Akavar

Claims that you can eat all you want and still lose weight.

BACKGROUND

Akavar 20/50 is a European weight loss pill that has achieved much success. It has made its move to the U.S. seeking the same. Akavar boasts that it is the ultimate fat cure and that you'll see the results you seek without any diet restrictions or inclusion of exercise.

Akavar is designed to restrict your daily caloric intake to less than normal. Without those calories that your body requires for energy, you'll start to use your fat reserves. This will of course cause you to lose weight and inches. However, you'll immediately gain back that weight should you stop using Akavar. The website offers little-to-know information about the product leaving open many questions about the supplement.

PRO
  • Promotes eating all you like and still seeing weight loss
  • Reduces urge to overeat
  • Do not have to count calories
  • Won't feel hungry
CON

Akavar 20/50 leaves a lot to be desired. Some of the more concerning details include:

  • Promotes a lifestyle without exercise and healthy diet
  • No FDA approval
  • Web site offers very little information
  • No published clinical research
  • Does not publish ingredients
  • Contains caffeine
INGREDIENTS

It takes a lot of research to find what is inside those little Akavar tablets, as the product's website bypasses any discussion. Akavar includes many caffeine sources including xanthine and green tea leaf. Other ingredients include yerba mate, guarana seed, ginger root, kola nut, Tibetan ginseng, cocoa nut, rice flour, yellow no. 6, red no. 3 and Gelatin, among many others.

CONCLUSION

Akavar 20/50 leaves a lot of open questions- which really leads to concerns about both the product's effectiveness and impact on the body. With so many diet pills and supplements on the market, it is important for manufacturers to paint a detailed picture of the product to help consumers make the most educated decisions. Many diet pills and supplements provide all of the information that Akavar seems to have conveniently left out. It is also a little misleading that without diet and exercise you can still lose weight. Anyone who has ever committed to losing weight knows that without important changes to diet and exercise, results are often not achieved.

I am 19... I've been taking it for a few days now and I like it... I'm just worried that when I get to where I want to be as far as weight goes (about 15 lbs. from here), it will all come right back if I STOP taking AKAVAR. I guess we'll see... I don't want DEPENDANCE on anything.

I started taking the pills yesturday. I took 2 for lunch and 2 for dinner. I guess it had an effect on how late I ate. I could not go to sleep for the longest, it felt like I was paranoid, and I had a rapid heartbeat. I didnt go to sleep till about 2 or 3 this morning, it was the worst feeling in the world and I dont want to ever feel like that again. So I started up again today only taking one for breakfast and one for lunch, I feel that I have NO energy and am super thirsty, I will also start working out to see a better outcome. I have seen and read good reviews. I hope I get the same. I also wish to loose at least 35 lbs. I am 24 years old, 5'1 and weigh about 190, i have 2 kids and would like to be more involved w/ doing activities w/ them. I will keep you guys posted and let you know if I see any results.

Also I feel the need to "snack" on something about every 2 hours, but I am only eating fruits, we'll see what the results are!!! posted Jan 19th, 2009 5:06 pm

I'm pretty impressed. Lost 5lbs the first week. You can eat all you want but you just don't want to eat. I started with one pill at lunch and one pill at dinner. The first day or two I had a headache but it has subsided. I have now increased to two pills at lunch and two at dinner. I am not sensitive to caffeine or its relatives but I'd highly recommend people who are to stay away. I also stopped drinking sodas which I'm sure helped with the weight loss. I didn't go to akavar for a miracle but something that could help with the cravings which is exactly what it has done. I will be adding an exercise program back to my routine which should help with further weight loss. I don't have a lot to lose but needed help in getting started. posted Jan 19th, 2009 2:09 pm

I started the pills today. I am only going to take 2 pills per day to start - 1 before lunch and 1 before dinner. I have reached the point of no return with my weight - no clothes fit and I don't want to buy anymore! posted Jan 18th, 2009 8:12 pm

I've been taking AKAVAR for about 12 days now. It definitely decreases the appetite, and gives an energy 'buzz' unlike that of plain caffeine.
But personally, I dispute their claim that you can eat all you want and still lose weight. I started a reduced calorie diet in addition to the pills and I've dropped next to nothing.
I would warn people to start off taking one pill instead of two until you know how it will affect you. Especially if you take other caffeine related products or drink coffee/tea. I could see this being heart attack in a bottle if taken in excess. posted Jan 18th, 2009 8:10 am

definitely takes away the appetite, if possible seems like my taste buds are more attuned to what I eat, salty out! fat yuck! but anything in the vegetable and fruit department taste marvelous... I even have to cook my meat extra well to tolerate it, smaller portions too. Really like this product! BUT.... I only take 2 or 3 a day never 2 at a time as it makes my heart race 1 before each meal is perfect but not after 4 pm or you'll be up all night.
Drink lots of water... about 2 lbs a wk. so far..... posted Jan 15th, 2009 2:05 pm

i am going to start the pills today, before lunch !! i dont eat a lot but, lately i was starting to eat too much junk food. but last week i converted back to eating healthy food, so hopefully the pill will boost my weight loss. im 5'7 and 170 wich i have been stuck at for almost 3 years, prior to other weight loss, nothing seems to work for me because of this long term plauteu and i want to be 140 by the beginning of may !! i have got to say tho, that some of the posts have got me wondering if this only acts as a water pill, because some of the weight loss seems that way such as 2 - 5 pound in a day or two, hopefully its more than a water pill, cuz that will just be gained back upon not taking the pills !! anyhow we shall see .. wish me luck and good luck to everyone !!! posted Jan 15th, 2009 10:41 am

I have tried ALOT of diet pills and they never worked for me. 1 year ago i recieved a brown shirt and couldnt even fit it! I was so shocked and sad. I began seeing adds for akvar and decided to give pills 1 more try and 2 weeks later the shirt fit!! I even had extra room in it! Akavar really does work, just drink alot of water with it. I barely worked out and it still did it's job. Im back on it now and im sure the pounds will shed again! posted Jan 8th, 2009 10:50 am

Scary alert! Something very strange just happened. Be sure to take your Akavar with a FULL glass of water.

I took it with only a sip and then about 5 minutes later the weirdest thing happened. I had my mouth open, flossing my teeth, and suddenly it's like the pill exploded. Came up my throat and nose (rather painfully) and there was a puff of white powder that came out my mouth.

Needless to say I had a bit of a panic then chugged a bunch of water. I feel okay, but my throat is a bit sore now and the experience was unpleasant in general.

Anyway, I just started taking the Akavar yesterday. Am only taking one pill at decent intervals because I am concerned about the amount of caffeine (195MG / 2 capsules).

I haven't been hungry since I started taking it, but am also taking Hoodia (although I am less than confident in the purity of the Hoodia I purchased), and I am a coffee drinker.

I'll probably report back with a proper rating once I've been on it longer. posted Jan 7th, 2009 12:37 pm
