Sensa

Just sprinkle away your weight.

BACKGROUND

Sensa is an innovative additive that is sprinkled on your food in order to induce feelings of fullness so that you can take control over what you eat and lose weight. It was created around the scientific principle that our sense of taste and smell are inextricably linked to our satiety.

By sprinkling Sensa onto your food, the Sensa Tastants travel through your nose to nerve receptors. Your nerve receptors stimulate areas in the brain that are involved in satiety and trigger the release of hormones that suppress hunger and appetite. Sensa Tastants come in two flavors: salty and sweet. They are sprinkled on the foods you eat so that you will start to reduce your cravings and lose weight. Sensa Tastants are sodium-free, sugar-free, and calorie-free and they do not alter the taste of your food.

In one clinical study, the average weight loss was 30 pounds while using Sensa for six months.

PRO
  • One large clinical study showed positive results while using Sensa Tastants
  • May help to jumpstart a weight loss program
  • Created by a medical doctor
  • Creates satiety and feelings of fullness
CON
  • Not a long-term solution to weight loss
  • Since it such a new product, long-term and immediate side effects can’t be proven
  • Automatically-enrolled in the monthly auto-shipment program
  • No specific dietary or fitness guidelines
INGREDIENTS

Sensa contains Maltodextrin (Derived corn in the U.S.), Tricalcium Phosphate, Silica, Natural and Artificial Flavors, FD&C Yellow 5, and Carmine. Sensa also contains Soy and Milk ingredients.

ADMINISTRATION

Sensa is sprinkled all over the surface of your food just before eating it. The Tastants marked “Salty” are sprinkled on all foods that you would typically use salt and pepper or a savory seasoning for meat, fish, pasta, most vegetables and starches. The Tastants marked “Sweet” are sprinkled on sweet foods like fruit, pastries, desserts and cereal. The words “Salty” and “Sweet” do not mean that the actual Tastants contain salt and sugar, or that they will make your food taste salty or sweet – it’s just a way to describe the type of food to use it on.

Sensa should not be used on liquids or liquid foods like soup or stews.

DIET and EXERCISE

There are no specific diet and exercise guidelines to follow while using Sensa other than to follow the instructions on the Sensa Tastant product label.

CONCLUSION

Sensa Tastants is a weight loss additive that uses technology and biology to help you eat less and lose weight. The patent for Sensa is still pending and it is not approved by the FDA.

As with any dietary supplement, talk to your medical doctor before taking this product. Since this product contains milk and soy, do not use this product if you have allergies to these foods. Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or if you have any medical conditions.

When used properly Sensa truly seems to cut food cravings and curb my appetite. For example, with Sensa, I can make a "100 calorie pack" last for several snacks during the day instead of several "100 calorie packs" a day without it. Sensa does, however, require a mindful approach. It means taking small portions, sprinkling, eating and then stopping to evaluate whether or not I'm satisfied. With Sensa, it certainly is possible to eat more, but if I want to stop, I can without feeling deprived. There is a noticable difference in satisfaction from when I use it and when I don't.. It is a tool, not a diet. posted Nov 18th, 2009 4:39 pm

I had read very disturbing reviews about Sensa, but figured that my shipping costs were more than worth the free month and half trial period. I didn't expect much to be honest, but I used in on my first meal and I really noticed a difference! I am a big 'foodie' and I constantly go back for seconds or even thirds! With Sensa, it was great, it's not like a felt stuffed, or sick, I simply just didn't want to eat any more. I felt truly satisfied, like I had gotten the best out of my meal! It didn't hit me right away, I guess it takes about 10 minutes to finally start signaling that I am full, but when it does, I look at my food and think to myself " No, I'm good. No more for me tonight." I'm not over weight, but it is the holiday season and I tend to gain 5-10 lbs, so I wanted to lose weight before I went on vacation at an all inclusive resort. Well, it has been 1 week, and I have lost 5 lbs!! Really, I have....WOW! The only thing I am struggling with is that I believe I sprinkle too much of the tastants on my food, so I'll have to use fewer for the following months batch. If you are concerned about the free trail, the main thing to remember if you don't like it and want your money back, is to have it postmarked BEFORE the last day of your scheduled free trail. I figured I would use it for the free trail and then send it back; what harm could that do? Now, I'm going to keep doing it!! Good luck to anyone wondering if this is right for them ❤ posted Nov 16th, 2009 5:12 am

I would like to add another comment.....I have a friend who also tried this supposed "free trial"....she recieved an e-mail telling her how to return her product. When I asked the company why I didn't get this e-mail, they said that the info was in the packing label. I had not kept the label once I recieved the product and checked to make sure what was in the box was what I had ordered. If you have already ordered your "not so free trial"...please keep the label. YOU HAVE TO REQEST THE E-MAIL TELLING YOU HOW TO RETURN THE PROUCT, you CANNOT just cancel. I have reported them to the Attorney General's office. I am sure I will have to pay the $89.95, but I hope this helps someone else. posted Nov 6th, 2009 10:56 am

I would like to warn anyone who tries this product...while some might have success with it both I and my girlfriend both started to gain weight. I canceled my plan less than 30 days after I started it. I have offered to return the product, but they will not accept it and have charged my account 89.95. There is NO SUCH THING as a "free months supply". Be very careful! If you do not cancel in less than 30 days from WHEN THEY SHIPPED IT you will be in the same predicament.

This is a scam and a fraudulent product!! posted Nov 6th, 2009 9:23 am

It seems to really work, Unlike Nutrisystem, weight watchers and other diets this product gives me a strong feeling of fullness. That's the real test of a successful diet. posted Nov 1st, 2009 7:05 am

This company has fraudulent and manipulative practices to make money. It isn't about having a product that will make someone lose weight....it is a marketing scam. Save money and just find some good snake oil. posted Oct 22nd, 2009 3:40 pm

You people have to watch out for "Free Samples", nothing is ever free, so always be cautious and READ THE FINE PRINTS, you have to because you dont know if your signing away your soul..lol..but really these diet promotions do this all the time...even Acai, everything with free trials are usually a scam to get you to buy more. READ before you give your money to the devil. posted Oct 21st, 2009 7:30 pm

Sensa is FRAUD. First of all, it doesn't work. I tried it faithfully for three weeks with zero results - I think I even gained a pound or two.

Second, I called to cancel about three days after receiving my kit when I saw that it was a monthly billing thing. I HAVE A CANCELLATION CODE AND THEY STILL CHARGED ME. They are robber pirates and they are going to get a piece of my mind when their customer service center opens today!

I can't believe they would still charge me after I cancelled so promptly - SENSA IS A SCAM! posted Oct 21st, 2009 8:17 am

DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT.And legally they breach the contract, when they charge me more... posted Oct 20th, 2009 7:32 pm

Please don't buy this product. It does't work. These people are scam artists. I sent off for the 30 day tria. It didn't work so l sent back the next month's that they had sent with the trial period. They kept the product and charged my credit card $89.95. What they did was against the law. They can't keep the product and the money. That's called double enrichment. Keep your money in your pocket. They are nothing but crooks. Stay away from them. posted Oct 20th, 2009 1:39 pm

For all the idiots who don't read the fine print. Everything that says it is a free trial offer for 7 or 30 days, means its free for 7 or 30 days! The terms & conditions on every website (diet pills etc) says after the trial ends, you will be billed. Stop bitching about being decieved and wanting to sue, you will lose. Every website has a terms & conditions on the bottom of the page for a reason. Now Shut the up. posted Oct 18th, 2009 10:15 pm
