Sensa

Just sprinkle away your weight.

BACKGROUND

Sensa is an innovative additive that is sprinkled on your food in order to induce feelings of fullness so that you can take control over what you eat and lose weight. It was created around the scientific principle that our sense of taste and smell are inextricably linked to our satiety.

By sprinkling Sensa onto your food, the Sensa Tastants travel through your nose to nerve receptors. Your nerve receptors stimulate areas in the brain that are involved in satiety and trigger the release of hormones that suppress hunger and appetite. Sensa Tastants come in two flavors: salty and sweet. They are sprinkled on the foods you eat so that you will start to reduce your cravings and lose weight. Sensa Tastants are sodium-free, sugar-free, and calorie-free and they do not alter the taste of your food.

In one clinical study, the average weight loss was 30 pounds while using Sensa for six months.

PRO
  • One large clinical study showed positive results while using Sensa Tastants
  • May help to jumpstart a weight loss program
  • Created by a medical doctor
  • Creates satiety and feelings of fullness
CON
  • Not a long-term solution to weight loss
  • Since it such a new product, long-term and immediate side effects can’t be proven
  • Automatically-enrolled in the monthly auto-shipment program
  • No specific dietary or fitness guidelines
INGREDIENTS

Sensa contains Maltodextrin (Derived corn in the U.S.), Tricalcium Phosphate, Silica, Natural and Artificial Flavors, FD&C Yellow 5, and Carmine. Sensa also contains Soy and Milk ingredients.

ADMINISTRATION

Sensa is sprinkled all over the surface of your food just before eating it. The Tastants marked “Salty” are sprinkled on all foods that you would typically use salt and pepper or a savory seasoning for meat, fish, pasta, most vegetables and starches. The Tastants marked “Sweet” are sprinkled on sweet foods like fruit, pastries, desserts and cereal. The words “Salty” and “Sweet” do not mean that the actual Tastants contain salt and sugar, or that they will make your food taste salty or sweet – it’s just a way to describe the type of food to use it on.

Sensa should not be used on liquids or liquid foods like soup or stews.

DIET and EXERCISE

There are no specific diet and exercise guidelines to follow while using Sensa other than to follow the instructions on the Sensa Tastant product label.

CONCLUSION

Sensa Tastants is a weight loss additive that uses technology and biology to help you eat less and lose weight. The patent for Sensa is still pending and it is not approved by the FDA.

As with any dietary supplement, talk to your medical doctor before taking this product. Since this product contains milk and soy, do not use this product if you have allergies to these foods. Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or if you have any medical conditions.

I read all comments like the ones here before trying anything or not. WHat caught my attention was that jaycee wrote 2 comments and one was directed against herself. hmmm
Once before I found a supposed customer feedback to be made up to show mostly support for a product and a few negatives tossed in to be realistic. Now..I don't trust this product at all. OR these sites. posted Aug 23rd, 2009 10:19 am

I don't know if this product works but if you try it then it's your fault if it doesn't. If everyone would stop being so concerned with feeling full all the time and be more concerned with eating less and eating healthier, the world would be a slimmer place. There's nothing wrong with feeling a little hungry from time to time and shrinking your giant stomach. Next time you shove so much food in yourself that you feel you may vomit, remember it's your fault you're fat (barring any medical conditions) and then think of all the hungry children living on the streets in America.. SHAME ON YOU FOR EATING THE WAY YOU DO!!! posted Aug 18th, 2009 1:33 pm

I fell for the "free trial" of Sensa, which turns out to be a commitment to pay nearly 90 dollars every other month, and you also have to pay the same amt for your "free" trial if you don't send it back within 30 days. When I called to cancel my membership and get a return number, the customer representative was rude and bordered on harassment to try to get me to continue my membership. I never should have tried this product so have only myself to blame; I would warn others not to fall for it. BTW, the product made no difference in my eating habits. Any success story you hear is probably psychological. posted Aug 17th, 2009 1:26 pm

There's no such thing as a miracle diet pill, but practicing moderation and having something that helps you do that is a great advantage. I have only used it for two days, but I have already lost a bit and I am so full, I can't even think about eating anytime soon. Usually I am ravenous and craving everything at night, but this product has slowed that down for me. It is gluten free, which is a plus for me. I loved bread and never felt satisfied after taking it out of my diet. This has quelled the cravings! so far so good... posted Jul 27th, 2009 11:22 pm

I signed up this morning but all this talk about telemarketers and charges freaked me out.
I called the number below, got through right away and cancelled no problems. Are you sure all you guys called the right place?

As I suspected...BIG problems with any company sending u a product on auto shipments. Very difficult to cancel and winds up costing you time & money. Thanks for this website...I will not be purchasing Sensa. Be wary of anyone wanting to bill u automatically! posted Jul 13th, 2009 10:49 pm

This is a complete scam! I ordered the "free" first month trial offer and was sent a second month in that package that the company wants to charge you the $90 for unless you ship it back at your cost! This is deceptive and underhanded marketing practices. Someone should sue this company! posted Jul 9th, 2009 3:04 pm

This was a BIG waste of money. $135 every three months and they keep auto-billing until you cancel. I signed up for three months only.
Initially it did curb my cravings a little, but after that I didn't see any results or feel any differently. It doesn't work, it's just a lot of hype. posted Jul 4th, 2009 2:19 pm

I do not understand all the hype for Sensa. My friend and myself both used it for 2 months consistantly and as directed. Neither of us felt any lessening of appitite, nor did either of us loose a pound. Seems like a too good to be true type thing that us heavy folks pray for, pay for and then, again just end up loosing money and nothing more.....shame on all of you Sensa pushers. make your bucks while you can as very soon the game will be up. Hey try taking 3 heavy breaths every hour using a special and wonderful 100 dollar breathing straw to loose weight......everyone will buy one and use it for a few months then just like the magic sensa sprinkle, they'll figure it out and that gig will be up and on and on and on and on...shame, shame shame posted Jun 22nd, 2009 7:53 pm

This stuff is awesome. I was very skeptical, but this product does exactly what it claims that it does. I'm eating small portions of healthy food, and it makes it much easier. I don't believe that most people can lose weight eating whatever they want. I am also exercising. So far I have not gotten any phone calls from telemarketers. posted Jun 19th, 2009 1:52 pm

The first month I lost a few pounds but gain them back be cause I ate as much as I wanted. The second month I watched what I ate and lost the few pounds again but I decided to cancel my auto ship from HSN. The morning I was going to call them, I weighed myself and hey I lost a few more! I decided maybe this works. I just finished three months and have lost 25 lbs. I look forward to each new month because every time I switch to the next month 5 lbs come off right away. then I lose a few more that month. I never feel the full feeling but I dont feel too hungry either. In my past many many diets I give up in a month and a half or two because my body refuses to lose any more. I was very skeptic this product would work but I very happy that it works for me and dont plan to stop my auto ship until I lose what I need to lose or until my body refuses to lose any more. So far so good! HSN is hassle free by the way. And to you who say this product causes cancer, how the heck do you know that? posted Jun 18th, 2009 11:49 pm

Anything that offers a "free trail" or just pay S&H is a rip-off!

You pay way more than anything free they promise.

I used the 6 week body makeover and lost 45 lbs, it is the best one so far. posted Jun 18th, 2009 5:11 pm

Be very afraid what you put in your mouth something like this can easily develop inside your body into something really bad like cancer along the way. I tried 6 weeks make over and so far in one week I lost 10 pounds and is all based on the food you eat withou any pills. posted Jun 16th, 2009 4:45 pm

This company is a complete ripoff! I ordered the product, was displeased with it, and called to cancel. I thought I was done with them until the next month when I got a $90 charge on my credit card. They had charged me for the second month, but had not told me they would do that if I did not send it back to them. It does not say so on their website either. I am sorry I ever responded to their ad for their ridiculous product. posted Jun 16th, 2009 11:37 am

Jaycee, not to burst your bubble, but there are 1000's of products that are not technically approved by FDA. Do you take a multi-vitamin? Only full on pharmaceutical drugs go through an approval process, many of which take millions and years to do. Most companies a side from big pharma can't afford the process. The other issue is just because the drug went through a NDA (new drug application) doesn't mean it's safe. There are thousands of drugs on the market that kill everyday. If you ever obtain adverse event reports from pharmaceutical companies you'll know that thousands of people die from drugs. Remember viox? The drug that was pulled from the market? It was so called "fda" approved. posted Jun 9th, 2009 9:39 pm

Sensa does not claim to be a "miracle" product. However, it does do exactly what it says it will do..make you feel full faster and satisfied longer. The ad says you can eat the foods you like, not anything you want. They do advocate a healthy diet and exercise. I just finished my 4th month and have lost 33#'s. I am a real person who had a real weight problem. I still have a ways to go, but Sensa has been an awesome aid to help me lose the weight, once and for all. If you haven't tried it, please don't knock it. And if you have tried it and it didn't "work" for you, please don't knock it. It is not a miracle drug, just an aid to teach you portion control. It is up to you to stop eating when you start to feel full.
No, I am not a company shill, but I am a very satisfied customer. I am passionate about this product and what it has done for me and others that thought they could never win the battle of being over-weight. I would like to thank Dr. Hirsch, for noticing that our sense of smell is directly related to our ability to lose or gain weight. The tastants in Sensa do enhance your food, you eat less, because you are satisfied sooner and lose weight as a result. Sensa makes perfect sense. posted Jun 8th, 2009 9:42 pm

To add insult here, this Sensa product has not been FDA approved and you are all ingesting something that will eventually cause you cancer. Do your research before falling for a miracle weight loss strategy. posted May 29th, 2009 12:05 pm

After three weeks I have lost five pounds, Im trying to go from 160 lbs to 140 lbs. I will review again in a few weeks. The thing is, is that I kept trying to set up certain amount of calories at certain times of the day for years now, and I just cant ever stick to my "new way of eating", but since Ive been using sensa, Ive stuck to it better than ever, Im not sure why, I do still get hungary before my next meal but Im able to wait and Im able to stop at my calorie amount. I think the problem most people are having is that sensa is claiming that you dont have to change anything, but really you do, and using sensa to help you change your eating habits is how Im doing it.
