Jillian Michaels

From NBC's Biggest Loser, Join the Black Team Now!

BACKGROUND

Jillian Michaels' knowledge of fitness training stems from years of martial arts and intense personal training. Best known as a trainer and coach on NBC's hit TV show The Biggest Loser, Jillian Michaels is an amazing motivator, personal trainer and guide to nearly 15 million Biggest Loser viewers every week. Before she was a massive television star, Jillian struggled to maintain her own healthy weight. She knows firsthand the trials and commitment it requires to lose weight and keep it off. Now she's set her sights on helping you reach your goals!

Jillian has created her own wellness media empire, and has written several books about weight loss and fitness, has a self-named Wii game, a self-named meal delivery program, an online diet program, a weekly radio show, a fitness DVD and is a contributor to Redbook Magazine and Cosmo Girl.

Here's a snapshot of Jillian's programs:

Jillian Michaels Online: As a member, you will reap the rewards of her knowledge, fitness expertise, secrets for weight loss, and motivational tips to keep you going. Jillian Michaels will keep you on the course of success with online diet support, unique weight loss tools, meal plans, and motivation to get the weight off and keep it off. The cost is about $4/week.

Jillian Michaels: Making the Cut: This mega popular book is a 30-day body-makeover guide that assesses your metabolism and guides you to eat appropriately for your specific metabolic type so that your body is using that energy and burning effectively. Making the Cut also contains self-empowerment tips and suggestions to overcome negative thinking and poor self-confidence.

Jillian Michaels: 30-Day Shred: Jillian’s popular workout DVD is designed to help you drop those last 10-20 pounds in just 30 days. There are three, 20-minute progressive workouts that become more challenging as you work through the program. Each session includes Cardio, Strength Training and Ab Training in a circuit-style routine.

Jillian Michaels Meal Plan: Partnering with the chefs at eDiets.com, Jillian has created a meal-delivery program that features her own diet rules and standards. Each week, you'll receive Jillian-approved meals delivered to your door that focus on lean protein, fresh fruit and veggies.

Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009: This Wii game allows you to create your own character and then follow along with Jillian's signature intense bootcamp-style workouts as her voice encourages you to exercise harder and use proper form.

DIET and NUTRITION

Even though Jillian has a number of different diet and exercise books, DVDs and other programs, her nutrition advice and guidelines remain steady. While her exercise DVDs don't contain diet tips, her books and online program contain heaps of information, recipes, and tools for you to eat healthy and lose weight.

She endorses a diet that is low-fat, low-carb and high in protein. Her eating plans generally feature three meals and a few snacks throughout the day, all of which include a lean protein source. Her online membership program contains the most comprehensive and personalized diet plan while her meal-delivery program offers you the convenience of eating Jillian-approved meals and snacks without having to prepare them.

Some Jillian-approved recipes you might find yourself enjoying include:

EXERCISE

The foundation of Jillian's program is exercise. She is a staunch proponent that consistent exercise is the most effective way to burn fat and calories. Her exercise programs all contain a cardiovascular and strength-training component that increase in their intensity as you move through them.

Her super-tough fitness philosophy have brought some of her Biggest Loser team members to tears, but it's her trademark motivational support that results in the achievement of weight loss goals and an almost contagious love and appreciation for exercise.

CONCLUSION

Well-rounded, exercise intensive and educational, the Jillian Michaels plan is based on science and created for anyone who is ready to commit to losing weight. Jillian doesn't say it's easy, but does say she'll make it easier by providing you all the tools and information you need, whether it is through her books, workout DVDs, online programs or meal-delivery plan.

Jillian's lengthy resume proves she has the knowledge and experience to guide you on your weight loss journey.

Wikipedia

Jillian Michaels (born 18 February, 1974) is a fitness expert who gained prominence as a trainer on the NBC weight-loss reality series ''The Biggest Loser'' (USA). Michaels was the trainer for the red team until 2006, when she was replaced by Kim Lyons. She returned in 2007 as the black team coach, competing against Kim's red team and Bob Harper's blue team. Kim decided not to return for the spring 2008 season, leaving Jillian as the only female trainer. Along with Bob Harper, Jillian is also a trainer in the Australian version of the show. She began her career in exercise because she was considerably overweight before her teenage years (though not as much as the contestants she whips into shape now). As a young adult, her mother enrolled her in a martial arts class, which was a new beginning for Jillian. Thereafter she dedicated herself to helping the overweight transform their lives and their bodies for the better.

I've been reading the different comments that people have made and also there suggestions. I agree they should do a show with people 50 and over that have disabilities, such as knee problems, back problems and even arthritis. It would really be of help to a sizeable amount of people both men and women!!! You have gotten other requests by other people for this type show for the 50 and over and disabiled . Please, please give this some consideration and thought to our suggestion. I am 54 years old and disabled with sore knees and a back problem and arthritis. It would be great to hear from Jillian as to what type of exercises would be of benefit to me. I'd like to be on the show just as many others would, but, I can't really afford the trip either. Any help at all would greatly greatly be appreciated. Thanks so much for a most inspiring show with trainers that really care about the people they train!!!!!!
