BACKGROUND

Jillian Michaels' knowledge of fitness training stems from years of martial arts and intense personal training. Best known as a trainer and coach on NBC's hit TV show The Biggest Loser, Jillian Michaels is an amazing motivator, personal trainer and guide to nearly 15 million Biggest Loser viewers every week. Before she was a massive television star, Jillian struggled to maintain her own healthy weight. She knows firsthand the trials and commitment it requires to lose weight and keep it off. Now she's set her sights on helping you reach your goals!

Jillian has created her own wellness media empire, and has written several books about weight loss and fitness, has a self-named Wii game, a self-named meal delivery program, an online diet program, a weekly radio show, a fitness DVD and is a contributor to Redbook Magazine and Cosmo Girl.

Here's a snapshot of Jillian's programs:

Jillian Michaels Online: As a member, you will reap the rewards of her knowledge, fitness expertise, secrets for weight loss, and motivational tips to keep you going. Jillian Michaels will keep you on the course of success with online diet support, unique weight loss tools, meal plans, and motivation to get the weight off and keep it off. The cost is about $4/week.

Jillian Michaels: Making the Cut: This mega popular book is a 30-day body-makeover guide that assesses your metabolism and guides you to eat appropriately for your specific metabolic type so that your body is using that energy and burning effectively. Making the Cut also contains self-empowerment tips and suggestions to overcome negative thinking and poor self-confidence.

Jillian Michaels: 30-Day Shred: Jillian’s popular workout DVD is designed to help you drop those last 10-20 pounds in just 30 days. There are three, 20-minute progressive workouts that become more challenging as you work through the program. Each session includes Cardio, Strength Training and Ab Training in a circuit-style routine.

Jillian Michaels Meal Plan: Partnering with the chefs at eDiets.com, Jillian has created a meal-delivery program that features her own diet rules and standards. Each week, you'll receive Jillian-approved meals delivered to your door that focus on lean protein, fresh fruit and veggies.

Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009: This Wii game allows you to create your own character and then follow along with Jillian's signature intense bootcamp-style workouts as her voice encourages you to exercise harder and use proper form.

While her exercise DVDs don't contain diet tips, her books and online program contain heaps of information, recipes, and tools for you to eat healthy and lose weight.

She endorses a diet that is low-fat, low-carb and high in protein. Her eating plans generally feature three meals and a few snacks throughout the day, all of which include a lean protein source. Her online membership program contains the most comprehensive and personalized diet plan while her meal-delivery program offers you the convenience of eating Jillian-approved meals and snacks without having to prepare them.

Some Jillian-approved recipes you might find yourself enjoying include:

EXERCISE

The foundation of Jillian's program is exercise. She is a staunch proponent that consistent exercise is the most effective way to burn fat and calories. Her exercise programs all contain a cardiovascular and strength-training component that increase in their intensity as you move through them.

Her super-tough fitness philosophy have brought some of her Biggest Loser team members to tears, but it's her trademark motivational support that results in the achievement of weight loss goals and an almost contagious love and appreciation for exercise.

CONCLUSION

Well-rounded, exercise intensive and educational, the Jillian Michaels plan is based on science and created for anyone who is ready to commit to losing weight. Jillian doesn't say it's easy, but does say she'll make it easier by providing you all the tools and information you need, whether it is through her books, workout DVDs, online programs or meal-delivery plan.

Jillian's lengthy resume proves she has the knowledge and experience to guide you on your weight loss journey.

Wikipedia

Jillian Michaels (born 18 February, 1974) is a fitness expert who gained prominence as a trainer on the NBC weight-loss reality series ''The Biggest Loser'' (USA). Michaels was the trainer for the red team until 2006, when she was replaced by Kim Lyons. She returned in 2007 as the black team coach, competing against Kim's red team and Bob Harper's blue team. Kim decided not to return for the spring 2008 season, leaving Jillian as the only female trainer. Along with Bob Harper, Jillian is also a trainer in the Australian version of the show. She began her career in exercise because she was considerably overweight before her teenage years (though not as much as the contestants she whips into shape now). As a young adult, her mother enrolled her in a martial arts class, which was a new beginning for Jillian. Thereafter she dedicated herself to helping the overweight transform their lives and their bodies for the better.

Jillian - I think you are a wonderful person as well as a trainer. Both you and Bob truly care about these people on BL. Kim doesn't seem to truly care about the people. She has more than once caused friction between her team members, maybe that's why there's only 1 team member left from the Red Team. I have been a faithful watcher of the BL since the very first episode. I really missed Jillian last year. Kim just could not fill your shoes. I found the show much less interesting last year, even though I love Bob. Thank you for the help you have given all of the contestants as well as all of us at home who are truly inspired by this program.

I am not a big fan of Jillian Michaels. She was wrong for asking Amy to work with her. Amy was a whiney baby. I think that Jillian is jealous of Kim because she is very pretty and is also a fitness competitor. I am tired of women like Jillian who do not support other women in their profession. I just can't stand jealous females. I also remember the time she talked about Kim when Kim let her team decide whether or not thay would drink or not when they were on their trip in Jamaica. Kim ended up winning that weigh in. You should never talk trash about another trainer's method. I have not heard Kim say anything disrespectful about her. Females should always stick together and stop hating. I definetly would rather have Kim as a trainer. Bob is cool too. Why was Jillian fired in the first place? Was it for being a backstabber. yall should also check out Oxygen magazine. It is the best fitness magazine out there.

I feel for Kim Lyons being lumped with the laziest and most unmotivated contestants on that show. I would be so frustrated if I had to train them - especially the two women. The only contestant in her group that was any good was Phil, and now he's gone. Kim Lyons is a great trainer and if those contestants don't appreciate her, then it's their loss. I agree with Sandra too, I can't stand jealous women either. Kim looks so fabulous because she works hard to look that way, as do all other women that look as great as she does. I read Oxygen mag too -it is the best.

You all need to "Get A Life"!!! Give Kym a chance!! Bobs and Jillian are great--but Kym needed to find her place and fit in. I feel this year she has done just that !! I think having three trainers this year is wonderful. I love "The Biggest Loser"

I love "The Biggest Loser"! It is the only show I watch during the week. Jillian, I love seeing you stern but you also know this will change the lives of others. I have always been active in sports but I know people who are severely overweight and I wish they would just watch "The Biggest Loser" and know that they can lose the weight and keep it off. I cry everytime they send somebody home. Keep up the great work trainers:)

Hello, I have beenwatching the show from the first season. I would like to ask when are we as a society going to do something for the children. I have a daughter who has been overweight sicne of the aage of 5. Melissa Maria is 16 and is struggle to fit in, she has not had a real date, she pretends her weight does not bother her nut i am a clinical therapist and i see her pain. I work with many adolscents who have the same problem. Why cannot the show do a show for the children. Why wait until they get older and have all kind of medical conditions. My daughter has asthma, borderline diaabetes and I am exterely worry about her mental health. Lets take care of the children. If anybody has any input please respond. For the producer, Jillian, Bon please take my comments serious. I believe the two of you care and can help. A loving and caring mother. Thank you

Jillian is the BOMB. She's inspirational, knowledgeable, BULLY and sexy! I love the BL since the beginning but quit watching it when she left. I've never been overweight and at 42 after 2 kids I'm still in a size2. It can be done with exercise and eating RIGHT! Find things to do that you enjoy for exercise & eating right is not that hard, plus it tastes better. I can't even stomach the fact of putting my teeth into fried chicken, so get there mentally as well. The payoff is great, not just looking good but being there for your children & family!!!
