BACKGROUND

Jillian Michaels' knowledge of fitness training stems from years of martial arts and intense personal training. Best known as a trainer and coach on NBC's hit TV show The Biggest Loser, Jillian Michaels is an amazing motivator, personal trainer and guide to nearly 15 million Biggest Loser viewers every week. Before she was a massive television star, Jillian struggled to maintain her own healthy weight. She knows firsthand the trials and commitment it requires to lose weight and keep it off. Now she's set her sights on helping you reach your goals!

Jillian has created her own wellness media empire, and has written several books about weight loss and fitness, has a self-named Wii game, a self-named meal delivery program, an online diet program, a weekly radio show, a fitness DVD and is a contributor to Redbook Magazine and Cosmo Girl.

Here's a snapshot of Jillian's programs:

Jillian Michaels Online: As a member, you will reap the rewards of her knowledge, fitness expertise, secrets for weight loss, and motivational tips to keep you going. Jillian Michaels will keep you on the course of success with online diet support, unique weight loss tools, meal plans, and motivation to get the weight off and keep it off. The cost is about $4/week.

Jillian Michaels: Making the Cut: This mega popular book is a 30-day body-makeover guide that assesses your metabolism and guides you to eat appropriately for your specific metabolic type so that your body is using that energy and burning effectively. Making the Cut also contains self-empowerment tips and suggestions to overcome negative thinking and poor self-confidence.

Jillian Michaels: 30-Day Shred: Jillian’s popular workout DVD is designed to help you drop those last 10-20 pounds in just 30 days. There are three, 20-minute progressive workouts that become more challenging as you work through the program. Each session includes Cardio, Strength Training and Ab Training in a circuit-style routine.

Jillian Michaels Meal Plan: Partnering with the chefs at eDiets.com, Jillian has created a meal-delivery program that features her own diet rules and standards. Each week, you'll receive Jillian-approved meals delivered to your door that focus on lean protein, fresh fruit and veggies.

Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009: This Wii game allows you to create your own character and then follow along with Jillian's signature intense bootcamp-style workouts as her voice encourages you to exercise harder and use proper form.

While her exercise DVDs don't contain diet tips, her books and online program contain heaps of information, recipes, and tools for you to eat healthy and lose weight.

She endorses a diet that is low-fat, low-carb and high in protein. Her eating plans generally feature three meals and a few snacks throughout the day, all of which include a lean protein source. Her online membership program contains the most comprehensive and personalized diet plan while her meal-delivery program offers you the convenience of eating Jillian-approved meals and snacks without having to prepare them.

Some Jillian-approved recipes you might find yourself enjoying include:

EXERCISE

The foundation of Jillian's program is exercise. She is a staunch proponent that consistent exercise is the most effective way to burn fat and calories. Her exercise programs all contain a cardiovascular and strength-training component that increase in their intensity as you move through them.

Her super-tough fitness philosophy have brought some of her Biggest Loser team members to tears, but it's her trademark motivational support that results in the achievement of weight loss goals and an almost contagious love and appreciation for exercise.

CONCLUSION

Well-rounded, exercise intensive and educational, the Jillian Michaels plan is based on science and created for anyone who is ready to commit to losing weight. Jillian doesn't say it's easy, but does say she'll make it easier by providing you all the tools and information you need, whether it is through her books, workout DVDs, online programs or meal-delivery plan.

Jillian's lengthy resume proves she has the knowledge and experience to guide you on your weight loss journey.

Wikipedia

Jillian Michaels (born 18 February, 1974) is a fitness expert who gained prominence as a trainer on the NBC weight-loss reality series ''The Biggest Loser'' (USA). Michaels was the trainer for the red team until 2006, when she was replaced by Kim Lyons. She returned in 2007 as the black team coach, competing against Kim's red team and Bob Harper's blue team. Kim decided not to return for the spring 2008 season, leaving Jillian as the only female trainer. Along with Bob Harper, Jillian is also a trainer in the Australian version of the show. She began her career in exercise because she was considerably overweight before her teenage years (though not as much as the contestants she whips into shape now). As a young adult, her mother enrolled her in a martial arts class, which was a new beginning for Jillian. Thereafter she dedicated herself to helping the overweight transform their lives and their bodies for the better.

Dear Jillian, I have been watching the B.L. since day one and love it. I was an overweight child caused by medications, which lead me to being a frustated girl. As I got older I chose the life of anorexia for over 17 years. (My family was the dieting family) I was in treatment twice, hospitalized once, as my body had eaten my muscle for protein, and now at age 34 I am happy and HEAL-THY. I am able to understand living the life of ED and it brings tears to my eyes when I see The Biggest Loser, no matter what type of E.D. we have it seems to be understood by us all. I never ate breakfast and when I was treatment it was explained to me as to , BREAK-FAST, break the fast. Now I LOVE the first meal of the day, it keeps me strong and mentally in connection with myself. I love to exercise (but not 6 hrs. per day like I use to) it keeps me calm and focused. Jillian you are the best. Take Care!

Personally i am a huge fan of BIGGEST LOSER, however It really bothers me to see who the contestants are on this show. You always see these real young girls and guys they always look like they come from well to do lives and families why is there never any poor person who truelly needs the help??? Someone who is really over weight and needs the program to possibly save their life!!! These 18 and 19 yr olds can go to the gym and work their weight off they have it in them if they want it. So Id like to see a REAL show for once!!!!!!!!!!

I need the biggest loser to save my life. I am 36 years old and If I dont lose the weight I will Probably be dead within the next couple of years. I dont know how much I weigh. I used to wheigh myself at a salvage yard but they became concerned that if I fell off their scale It would be their liability. Even the doctors office and the hospitals dont have scales that go high enough. I figure that I am over 600 lbs. In 2007 I tried out for the biggest loser in milwaukee but was not chosen. What was important was the fact that my mother passed away the night before due to obesity. She suffered being homebound for many years because she coudnt walk due to her obesity. She died a very lingering and painful death. At the end she was hooked up to a ventilator and other machines to keep her alive. After a couple of weeks she elected to be taken off the machines and she passed within hours. 12 hours later i was in line for the Biggest Loser. I have tried virtually every diet known to man and they dont work. Although a few do to varying degrees. I dont have a strong support structure to enable me to lose weight. I need someone like Jillian to light a fire and help me. If I dont get help soon I will BE DEAD. There are so many things I would like to accomplish that i believe would benefit humanity but unless I can overcome my demon (food) then I wont be around to do anything. My Idea for a show would be to have everyone over 500 lbs. You would call it the Quarter Ton Club. And instead of sending people home they would stay but would be taken out of the running for prizes. Although to me the greatest prize I could ever get would be to lose 400 lbs. You could even have a 5 ton challenge. There would be 2 teams whose weight would be around 2500 lbs. The first team would be people like myself who are 500 to 600 lbs. the other team would be people who are 200 to 300 lbs. You would have a small group of 5 to seven players and a large group of 10 to 12 players. It would show the difference between the obese and the morbid obese. Most people have never seen someone who walks around yet needs to lose 300 to 400 lbs. I was at a restaurant and suprised some people when they found out how much i wanted to lose. they couldnt grasp the idea of losing 400 lbs and how much weight that was. So we did an experiment and found that I needed to lose the equivalent of 3 and one half of a waitress. everybody was floored. I blame myself for my problems. I realise that I did this to me. Even though I used their products to excess I do not blame restaurants or fast food joints. that being said i also know that I cant do this alone and I am begging for help. Please dont let me Die. If anyone can helpme I am sure it is jillian. I believe that if we were not a sue happy nation we would see jillian dragging people out of burger joints and dragging them to the gym. That is the fire I need to succeed. Once again Please Help save my life and I will do anything to pay you back. Please I am begging.

would love to be on biggest loser, I have always been on and off diets since I was 11 years. I'm now 43 and my weight has went too far. I'm 5f 1in and 193 , I have lost a little, but it get discouraging with all I need to lose, on a diet, off a diet. I use to be able at least to go on a fast diet and lose the pounds fast before if I gained a few. NOw that is not possible. I have too much to lose. I enjoy watching everyone losing weight on the Biggest Loser. So happy for them.....

I am in LOVE with my wife and very best friend and she wants to lose down to about 145. Right now she weighs about 190. The problem is she had 2 bad injuries in her back and she is in a lot of pain all the time. She's a real trooper because she does not let the pain get her down. She still gets up and walks around and ceans our home all the time. I was wondering if you had any exercises that she could do to lose the weight that she wants to lose? Thank You for reading my reguest. Cordially, Dennis Bailey

Even if Jillian Michaels is/was a man, the work she's doing should be commended. In the end, that's all that matters.

I think that Kim Lyons and Jillian Michaels are my favorites. I do like Bob Harper, but I think that the others have just better training techniques then him and they are a lot tougher then him.
