Wikipedia
Jillian Michaels (born 18 February, 1974) is a fitness expert who gained prominence as a trainer on the NBC weight-loss reality series ''The Biggest Loser'' (USA). Michaels was the trainer for the red team until 2006, when she was replaced by Kim Lyons. She returned in 2007 as the black team coach, competing against Kim's red team and Bob Harper's blue team. Kim decided not to return for the spring 2008 season, leaving Jillian as the only female trainer. Along with Bob Harper, Jillian is also a trainer in the Australian version of the show. She began her career in exercise because she was considerably overweight before her teenage years (though not as much as the contestants she whips into shape now). As a young adult, her mother enrolled her in a martial arts class, which was a new beginning for Jillian. Thereafter she dedicated herself to helping the overweight transform their lives and their bodies for the better.

(Page 2 of 15)i heard your comments on the people on biggest losers. . you should be fired off that show. calling them half dead and not normal. you are such a .
Marlene hits it dead on. Sarah you've done a great job. I'm not sure if you've read her new book, I'm almost done. Moderation is key but there is chemicals that wreak havoc on our bodies and by eliminating those we can lose weight easier without our bodies fighting us so much.
Got love Jillian she better not leave!!

Sarah, I am really happy that you have made positive steps in combating an eating disorder. It is a very tough thing to do, and you should feel proud.
In response to your concern that Jillian Michaels is telling you to not eat some foods, I would recommend that you look more closely into the science on the foods she says to avoid. I felt so much healthier when I started eating like my grandfather ate. He was slender all his life, and lived well beyond most, doing his own gardening at 103 years old. When I mirrored his eating habits, in addition to feeling calm and healthy, the weight started dropping off. Note that the healthy feeling came first!
The foods I avoided were precisely what Jillian is recommending to avoid...those things that are chemically created (have you ever seen a cheeto or twinky grow?), hormonally altered, or processed beyond recognition. The body simply does not know how to handle these foods, so does not work as well. Jillian's premise is not to eat anything that didn't have a mother or didn't grow from the ground (or ocean), and to eat things in as close to their original form as possible. This doesn't prohibit food choices, as much as just changing the direction of the choice...like looking at the Eastern horizon instead of North...still plenty to look at, just a different direction. What makes it easier is not saying "I can't eat coolwhip" but saying "I prefer this organic yogurt today...it tastes better".
We should not be eating things like High Fructose Corn Syrup or Transfats..the science is very clear. Jillian goes further to say that listening to your body is key. Believe me, once a clean eating habit has been established, the body will tell you loud and clear, to maintain the effort. Your skin glows, you have an abundance of energy, and your weight hits an equilibrium on its own that prevents the unhealthy yo-yo dieting. Soon, you find you could care less that someone made a new strawberry-flavored whatever, when you are enjoying the real thing!
Having studied this eating regimen. and the science behind it, I honestly do not know why you have issue with Jillian's food recommendations. Eating a clean diet evens out the "brain chemicals" which can support healthy mental states in our crazy lives. I also have a degree in counseling psychology, and know that Jillian's food constraints would not be a setback for someone with an eating disorder. In fact, I see many aspects that would be extremely helpful in treatment.
Best wishes to your continued success. I know you will be able to help someone else with a similar challenge.
I agree with Sarah comment 100% I am a yo-yo dieter....In the past ....at 5'5" I was 100 lbs ....125....180....back down to 110....back up to 160...now I am down to 140.... I used to starve to lose weight ....or pig out and eat late....Oh....the drama of it all......now ....I eat in moderation.....splurge once in awhile....workout.....losing weight slowly but safe. It is dangerous for me to hear someone telling me I can't eat something. I would just starve. I was going to buy Julian wi fitness....however......I changed my mind.

I love Jillian to deah she is such a good role model!! i wanna say im a huge fan & her diets work!
I have a few comments regarding Jillian Michaels and her weight loss agenda. I have recovered from an eating disorder, and I would like to say that Jillian Michaels is my enemy in my endeavor to feel good about my body. I absolutely hate seeing her tell people that they can't eat something because it is BAD. First of all, no food is bad. What is bad is a lack of moderation. From what I have seen , she does not teach moderation. Rather, she teaches that a person should stay away from certain foods altogether. Everything I have heard her say sounds like an eating disorder mentality. To all you who admire Jillian, please listen. Moderation is the key. Exercise regularly, listen to your body, and eat all things in moderation. Also, examine what you love about yourself and build on those strengths. Why do we believe that Jillian Michaels and other Hollywood celebs know it all??? There is no perfect body and skinny is not the only way to be beautiful just because some millionairre trainer says it is. Start listening to your bodies instead of Hollywood. Your body will tell you when it is hungry and when it is full!!! Eating is an instinct and your brain regulates when you need to eat. In essence, I hope i haven't offended anyone- I just want you to know that you have the answers within yourselves. I guarantee you Jillian Michaels is not as healthy mentally as she looks physically.
Jillian is such a motivator and although her style of coaching on tv can come across a bit tough she certainly knows how to work the body and how to nourish it as well.

Man, I love this show, this is the first season I’ve watched and I started on the episode where Damien got booted off. I am so happy I watch it though, I started going to the gym last Monday and I don’t have a trainer but when I’m ready to quit it’s like I can hear Jillians voice saying, “if you quit now, you’ll have to start all over again. ” and so far I haven’t quit. I signed up for the pound for pound challenge, and so far I’ve lost 6.5lbs in the week and a half I’ve been going to the gym and I’m eating good referring to the tips that we’re given on the show, eating my Fiber One cereal, eating Chicken skewers, man I love it! I’m a 5ft tall, 22 year-old that was weighing 163lbs and now weighs 157 thanks to this show! Thank you Jillian, Thank you Bob, thank you NBC!
I haven't started this diet/work out yet but seriously, all these people who say she's mean...what exactly do u want? if you had a personal trainer and u totally couldnt be bothered one day, would you want them to say "oh ok then love, just chill out tonight" eh...NO! of course you need someone is motivating and mean and actually TRAINS you.
Good gosh people!
NEXT ISSUES such that it does not believe falsehood and pure and everything she says and what a way to steal money from people. Never buy anything online with this people because you will never receive what they buy and the credit card will be taken more than the value of the purchased so much care with the promotions of jullian and pure falsehood to steal money from people I was a victim of it. .. care.
Unfortunately, I have tried many times to sign up on Jillian Michael's site and it keeps kicking me out with an error that my postal code is not correct. I tried to sign up on the international site (Canada) but it won't let me. They really need to fix this problem.
Jillian has been a huge motivator and inspiration for me on my journey. I was a member of her site for part of the year in 2008 and thought it was great. The forums are a great place to go for advice or just to talk, especially if you need help getting over a tough bump in the road. Her book, Winning by Losing is definitely one to pick up. She really takes the time to explain how to calculate what your body needs to achieve success in weight loss.

I LOVE JILLAN MICHEALS. SHE IS AN EXCELLENT TRAINER.YES, EVEN THOUGH SHE IT VERY TOUGH ON THE PEOPLE ON THE BIGGEST LOSER,THAT'S THE MOTAVATION THAT THEY NEED. IF THEY BEIEVE THAT THEY CAN'T ACHIEVE THE MORKOUTS THEN THAT'S WHAT THERE GOING TO DO.JILLAN HELPS THEM TO BELIEVE THAT THEY CAN DO ANYTHING AND TO NEVER GIVE UP. AND WHAT CAN I SAY THE PEOPLE THAT SHE TRAIN IN THE END ALWAYS LOOK AND FEEL GREAT!
Her workouts seem simple by looking at them, when you do them you will realize they are intense and they work. If you follow exactly what she says it is impossible not to lose.
