In addition to this system, you’ll also receive a comprehensive 3-phase nutrition plan, specially designed supplement options, a detailed fitness guide, a calendar to track your progress, online peer support, and other tools and services.

The unique feature behind the P90X system is an advanced training technique called "Muscle Confusion," which accelerates the result process by constantly introducing new moves and routines so your body never plateaus, and you’ll hopefully never get bored.

Whether you want to get lean, or bulk up, there are a variety of ways to mix and match the routines to keep you motivated for 90 days and beyond. Each of the twelve workouts differ in which areas of the body they target and the kind of exercise they include.

Phase 2 is the Energy Booster phase where you’ll be eating both carbohydrates, protein and small amounts of fat in order to optimize your energy performance. Phase 3 is the Endurance Maximizer where you’ll be eating proteins, small amounts of fat and more carbohydrates in order for you to make your way through your final leg of this 90-day training journey.

EXERCISEEXERCISE

Exercise is the basis of the P90X. The workout system includes 12 workouts that over such areas as resistance training, cardiovascular exercise, and core-conditioning. You are encouraged to do a workout a day while taking rest days according to the P90X training guidelines. Amazing workout. Even the stretch day works muscles that you didn't know you had. I'm 53 and out of shape. But you just do what you can and come back the next day. You will feel so good in your head for committing to this program.

I love P90X! I have been doing it for 2 months now and I feel great! The trick is to make sure your body is getting enough protein and write down all your reps. I use http://www.my90x.com to track all my workouts.

This is only day 2 for me. I done one last night and then again this morning. I am trying the "Lean" plan. I love the energy and the way my body feels after a video. So far I have been able to keep up fairly well. I have put forth every amount of effort possible and if there is one I can't do, I substitute it by jogging in place or doing a modified version of the exercise. I am 5'5 190 lbs. I plan on getting back to 125 (pre baby weight) if the good Lord is willing. I am so excited to see my results after 90 days...I'm pretty ecstatic to see my results this time next week as well =). I will update my progress as I go.
P.S.
Not to sound silly but I find a lot of personal strength and motivation through God

P90X is probably one of the best full body workouts in a dvd set out there. if not the best.

Nanita, you could use resistance bands with a door attachment instead of the pull up bar above the door.

I lost 35 pounds on this program, without really following the diet program at all. 250 to 215 in 2 months. Then I got all messed up and had to stop, still have not gained any back and am starting up again. Great workouts, you will have to work very hard but it is worth it.

I want to start joining P90x program. Yet there is now way I can place the pull up bar on any of my doors. Can any one tell me if I still can do the exercise without it and get a nice result?

53 yrs-old and on day 14. Have lost 15 lbs, down 3 belt notches and from a 40 waist to 36. P90X is tough, the 1st week I could not do most of the exercises, now can do, but not the # of reps in the video.

I'm on my 9th day, and woooww the workouts are hard...no, no...the word hard is an understatement. It truly tests every aspect of you, but I absolutely love it. I try my best to keep up with the nutrituion guide, and I don't need to lose weight, just need to get buffed. So far my family memebers say they see some good results on me, and this is just day 8!!

I just finished week one of P90x....yay! The first few days were brutal (soreness, walking funny due to jelly legs)! I ordered this to get back in shape and lose weight. I am 6 months post-op from ACL surgery so am cautious in some of the moves; however, overall, it is great, as the modified moves are also demonstrated. If I feel like I am getting too tired and not keeping my form, I stop and collect myself and either start again on that move or move on to the next.

I must admit, it took me a while to get to this point; however, I want to be able to wear great clothes and not worry about having my picture taken! See you in 83 more days!!!
