Biggest Loser Club

Train with Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels

BACKGROUND

Join Biggest Loser Club Now!

Nearly five years ago NBC introduced some of the biggest losers television has ever seen- and audiences couldn't have been more enthusiastic about embracing them and cheering them on. "The Biggest Loser" will begin its eighth season in the fall of 2009 and has grown to become one of the most popular programs on TV. Not only has Biggest Loser touched millions of Americans- but now reaches more than 50 countries, with places like Australia and Guam hosting their own series.

Each season the show introduces teams of people battling serious weight problems. During the fifth season, the show had ten teams of two couples competing to win; in season 5 they introduced a teams-of-two couples format; in season 6 they hosted a families format, season 7 returned to couples and season 8 will go back singles.

In the beginning, the teams are competing to win a cash prize of $250,000 and the title of Biggest Loser; but after a few weeks, they start to discover themselves and become more interested in getting healthy. The player who loses the highest percentage of body fat during the program wins. But ultimately, they all go home big losers who've won even more.

As the popularity of the show increases, so does the audiences' interest in trying it for themselves. The Biggest Loser Club now makes all of the expertise and tools used by the contestants available to you at home. Trainer Bob Harper, a renowned personal trainer, says that those following the home-version likely will not realize the same results as those on the show, simply due to circumstance. The contestants are in a highly focused environment for 12 weeks, without influence of typical daily stressors like children, work and chores.

Trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper have each published books with additional fitness and diet insight. During season five, Biggest Loser partnered with Bistro M.D. to provide the Biggest Loser Meal Plan, a home delivery meal service with healthy, chef and doctored designed menus.

In addition, The Biggest Loser Resort at Fitness Ridge located in Utah offers a structured, affordable and weight-loss program for those who want to lose weight The Biggest Loser way but without all of the cameras and popularity. The resort accommodates adults and teenagers and emulates the same successful features of the NBC hit reality show with its calorie-controlled and chef-prepared meals, energetic workouts, motivating personal trainers and helpful dietitians.

I went to GNC in Ashtabula and Mentor, ohio to get protein shake and other biggest loser supplies I was very disappointed because the men at each place to me this stuff was not good and that if and when i decide to lose real weight come back and they will get be really good protein shakes etc. they discouraged me and i didn't buy the protein drink i had tried samples from my daughter and i felt good and felt like this was for me. Please help I need to lose 50-60 pounds. I very discourage how GNC at both places trashed the biggest losers products. thank you Kathy in Andover, Ohio posted Jun 19th, 2009 9:24 am

The Biggest Loser Diet is easy to follow and is a lifestyle change not a diet. The website gives you meal plans that you can swap out portions of meals if you don't like them. Recipes are included. Most recipes are tasty. It is the best plan I have tried so far. Currently lost 24 pounds. If you are serious about losing weight, I would definitely recommend joining the online program it would be MUCH easier than trying to follow a book. If you join for just one month you will be able to see how to follow the plan so you can do it yourself. posted Apr 14th, 2009 12:38 pm Profile send message  Message

I have found it to be one of the best diets I have tried. I especially like the daily meal plans with recipes and shopping lists included because I don't have a lot of time to figure the meail plans myself. It has a very good variety of food offered which prevents bordem. With the planned snacks included I have been less hungry then when using other diets. posted Feb 11th, 2009 1:39 pm Profile send message  Message

Jillian, & Bob,
I think you guys do a great job doing what you do with the people on the show. I wish I had someone to motivate me in such a way. I'm just a little under 5' and I weigh about 320. I have a HUGE stomache, so it's very hard to do much. I am very proud of all those who come on the show to make a change in their lives, and if they just happen to be the Biggest Loser, the money is just an added bonus. God Bless you all. I was triggered with all the carbs - not enough protein. Not a spicey enough recipe plan, takes a lot of prep. I prefer and do better on lower carb, lean protein, with simple recipes. Plus - have to pay monthly to get ideas - cookbook is very limited and all the books are highly repetitive. My housemate loves it - but she's taking over prep next week - will se how it is then. Exercise help is very good, however, with good feedback from the website. posted Jan 10th, 2009 11:21 pm
