About Me:
I am a 30 year old mother to three children ages two, five, and seven. I have been overweight most of my adult life. Each pregnancy left me with an extra 15 to 20 pounds. My heaviest weight was a recent 237 pounds. I decided enough was enough, I will not hit 240 pounds. I (re)started my weight loss journey on March 1st and have dropped about 15 pounds. During this time, there was about a month when I did absolutely nothing towards losing weight (got evicted and we were homeless for a bit). I am happy to say I am actively focusing on eating better and slowly introducing activity into my sedentary lifestyle. I have tried dieting many times, now I am changing my lifestyle to be more fit and healthy so I can grow old enough to meet my great grandchildren!
The goals I'm working toward:
- 140 pounds
- Drink water!!!!
- Eat healthy
- Exercise regularly
I haven't felt comfortable with my weight since:
I have always felt like the fat kid. It wasn't until after I'd given birth to my first child that I truly started to be self conscious and disgusted at where I'd let me weight go to.
My favorite healthy food:
VEGGIES! I love love love veggies, I struggle with the time it takes to prep them.
My guiltiest pleasure:
Anything gooey, cheesy, and chocolatey.
I'm inspired to live a healthy life because:
I want to be around to at least meet my great grandchildren.
Healthy habits that work for me:
- Limit soda to one per week.
- Using fat free feta cheese instead of colby.
- Having 100 calorie cookie packs when a chocolate craving hits.
My favorite activity at the gym is:
Weight training. I LOVE switching between the machines and circuit training my muscles. I LOVE to push myself to the brink of exhaustion. Alas, I can't afford a gym at the moment.
The accomplishments I'm most proud of:
- Teaching my kids healthy food habits.
