The goals I'm working toward:

  • I started at 370 lbs and want to get to 165 lbs.
  • I have lost 65 lbs. and have 140 more to lose.
  • Maintaing the weight once I lose it.

I haven't felt comfortable with my weight since:

I doubled my weight over the past twelve years. Part of that was due to stress and depression while taking care of a parent in the end years.

My favorite healthy food:

Baked vegetables.

My guiltiest pleasure:

I LOVE hot dogs. It is one of the few things I get a craving for. The only ones I like are Hebrew National that are boiled and wrapped in flour tortillas with cheese. Or wrapped in dough and baked. Thankfully, I have never had a taste for sweets, but potato chips come in as a firm second...I used to eat half a bag at a time.

I'm inspired to live a healthy life because:

My activities were dictated by my weight gain. I was embarassed by the weight, and it was taking a toll on my health. I was having difficulty breathing after simple tasks. I decided to take the weight off before I develop complications. My mother was diabetic and she died of complications from it. I don't want to go down the same path.

Healthy habits that work for me:

  • I don't drink any soda anymore, including diet
  • I try to walk more, and take more mini exercise breaks through out the day doing stretches/bends.
  • I make sure I drink lots of water daily.

My favorite activity at the gym is:

I don't belong to a gym, but I do own a rowing machine and computerized exercise bike. I enjoy both of those exercises. Once I lose more weight I want to do light weight training.

The accomplishments I'm most proud of:

  • Graduating college and enjoying a successful career as a graphic artist
  • The 65 lbs. that I have lost so far.
