About Me:

Love to read about nutrition and how what you eat affects your body. Had a tough time with food while in my fifties and dealing with changing hormones, but my sixties are awesome. Just lost 30 pounds after getting by body back in balance. I work part time and go to the gym most days. The biggest change I made is eliminating gluten from my diet.

The goals I'm working toward:

  • Lose 25 more pounds
  • Find a sport in which to compete at the senior level
  • Win at the sport I choose by training hard and effectively

I haven't felt comfortable with my weight since:

Menopause

My favorite healthy food:

Definitely grilled veggies.

My guiltiest pleasure:

Cashews

I'm inspired to live a healthy life because:

I never want to feel old.

Healthy habits that work for me:

  • Exercising in the morning
  • Planning my food the day before
  • Tracking how much water I drink: I aim for 100 ounces a day

My favorite activity at the gym is:

Leg press--I'm over 60, 5 feet tall, and can press 500 pounds (15 full reps).

The accomplishments I'm most proud of:

  • Regaining happiness and contentment
  • Earning a B.S. in 5 years while working full time.
  • Buying my first home
