BACKGROUND Start the Diet Now Advertisement

The New Lifestyle Diet is a weight loss and maintenance program designed to help you lose weight and keep it off. Using special New Lifestyle Diet meal replacement shakes, bars and puddings, the program consists of a low-calorie, high-protein eating plan in combination with a consistent exercise routine to achieve your weight loss goals.

There are two New Lifestyle Diet programs to choose from - a women’s and a men’s program. You can also choose between a 2-week, 4-week or 8-week program depending upon how much weight you need to lose.

You can expect to lose 2-5 pounds a week, or up to 20 pounds a month.

PRO
  • Reduced-calorie diet will help you lose weight
  • Promotes exercise
CON
  • Meal replacement are not a long-term weight loss solution
  • Low calorie diet may leave you feeling hungry

DIET and NUTRITION

On the New Lifestyle Diet, you will be replacing breakfast, lunch and two snacks with New Lifestyle products such as puddings, shakes, soups, cereals and nutrition bars. For dinner, you are allowed to eat eight ounces of lean meat and two cups of vegetables that you prepare on your own.

A typical day on the New Lifestyle Diet contains less than 1,100 calories, 164 grams of protein, 72 grams of carbohydrates and 18 grams of fat. The New Lifestyle Diet food is purchased from the New Lifestyle website. You can either custom design your own order or choose from a preselected package.

EXERCISE

Daily exercise is vital to the success of the New Lifestyle Diet, but the exercise requirements are not overwhelming. The program simply requests that you walk for 30 minutes every day for the first 30 days of the program.

After the first 30 days, you'll enter into Phase 2, Phase 3, and finally Phase 4 of your exercise routine in which you'll add 30 minutes of strength training, two, three or five times a week. For phases 2, 3 and 4, you will receive a complete workout guide including specific strength training exercises you should do, number of sets and repetitions.

CONCLUSION

The New Lifestyle Diet is a very low calorie meal replacement weight loss program that offers portion-controlled snacks and mini-meals in lieu of breakfast and lunch. While this program will probably help you to lose weight, meal replacement weight loss programs have not proven to have long-term success at keeping the weight off.

If you are serious about losing weight, The New Lifestyle Diet may help you achieve your immediate weight loss goals but it is uncertain whether those goals can be sustained. The New Lifestyle Diet is a very low calorie meal replacement weight loss program that offers portion-controlled snacks and mini-meals in lieu of breakfast and lunch. I LOVE THIS DIET PROGRAM!!! I am 56 years old and have tried so so many diets in my life and failed. I believe that everyone has to find the diet that works for them, not all diets work for everyone. I found mine with New Lifestyle Diet. I am what they call morbidly obese. I have lost 60 lbs so far with New Lifestyle Diet, and I am NOT HUNGRY!!! I am overwhelmed with how this diet works for me. I am proud of myself too!!! If feels great. I have on occasion gone off for a few days or a meal here and there, but I am actually able to go back on it and not feel guilty for having slipped.
I also have not found any of their products that I do not like. I do have my favorites though. I would recommend this diet to anyone, it may be for you and it may not but you won't know until you try. Good Luck to all.

I have used the NLD off and on over the last 5 years. I get good fast results to quick start new eating habits and motivate me to WANT to eat healthier again. I lost 17 lbs in a month.

Are New Lifestyle products better than Ideal Protein? I lost 30# last year with Ideal Protein; not surprisingly 10# have "slipped" back on. A friend suggested New Lifestyle saying it was cheaper and about the same product. To me though it seems New Lifestyle items are not using as good ingredients as IP. Any input on this?

This company sneakingly preys on people looking for the IDEAL PROTEIN DIET. Dont believe me - google "Ideal Protein diet" and these guys have a "PAID FOR" Google Ad to lure you to them. Ideal Protein can ONLY be found in Healthcare Professional Offices NOT on the INTERNET. They use language to make you think they are IDEAL PROTEIN and they are not and their products are NOT as good. When I called they started BASHING Ideal Protein - so dont bother with these wannabes that prey are your vulnerability - go to a REAL IDEAL PROTEIN WEIGHT LOSS CLINIC - Visit idealprotein.com for one in your area.

I was looking into doing Optifast through Kaiser but it was way too expensive. This program is cheaper and the chocolate shakes are amazing and I am VERY picky about diety tasting foods.

I lost 30 lbs on this diet in only about 45 days. It is a fantastic plan for fast weight loss, however nce you reach your oal weight it is extremely important to follow their maintenance plan to keep the weight off.
