LA Weight Loss
Lose weight and look great like everyone in LA
With more than 400 locations and success stories from across the world, LA Weight Loss has helped people battling the bulge lose the weight, not the lifestyle. This tagline for LA Weight Loss attracts people across the globe to a program that teaches how to effectively lose weight- not just give you the answers. It's not another trendy diet of the moment. Since 1994, the LA Weight Loss centers have provided clients with individualized counseling, by nutrition experts or successful clients, that prepare them for leading healthier lives. Encouragement, smart eating and exercise all contribute to the success of LA Weight Loss clients. You'll learn to eat appropriate portions, as well as enjoy a diet rich in nutrients- a balanced approach that does not focus exclusively on one group of food or completely remove another.
A complete history of each client's health is taken by counselors. This offers an extra level of attentiveness so that the program is safe and effective. Clients then visit the center to participate in individual counseling meetings. LA Weight Loss lasts only 12-months divided by three phases: Weight Loss, Stabilize, Maintenance.
- Does not require you eat the prepared food
- Recommendations for dining out
- Long-established brand and reputation
- No food restrictions
- No counting
- Personalized counseling
- Clients featured in People Magazine's 2008 "Half Their Size" issue
- Cost based by each center
- Not available in all areas (Due to[Pure Weight Loss](http://www.dietsinreview.com/diets/PureWeightLoss/ "Pure Weight Loss" closings)
- Weekly counseling sessions, in person
LA Weight Loss has a non-diet approach. They promote a healthy weight loss program, that teaches you how to live a healthy and balanced life- not just kill a few pounds for the moment. You won't have to seriously restrict one group of food, like a low-carb or no-fat diet; instead, you'll learn how to enjoy all things in moderation assuring your body receives all the nutrients it needs. In addition to teaching how to make and enjoy delicious, healthful meals at home, LA Weight Loss recognizes that it's not always convenient to do so. LA provides guidance to help you dine at a restaurant, without neglecting your plan.
LA Weight Loss also has a healthy cookbook available at most centers. Inside you'll find chocolate truffles, vegetable ziti bake and their famous philly cheesesteak.
As part of the LA Weight Loss program, you'll be encouraged to get up and move. Any weight loss program worth its salt is going to make this recommendation- so don't think you're getting out of it. LA states that even a mild exercise regimen will yield results. Your exercise plan will be created by your counselor, specific to your needs, experience and limitations.
Provided there is a center in your area, LA Weight Loss is an ideal weight loss program. By offering individualized counseling, you're able to follow a plan created specific to your unique needs. If you're looking for a one size fits all program- then look elsewhere. With a long established brand and reputation and genuine testimonials on the site, you'll feel right at home at LA Weight Loss. Most importantly, you'll be able to lose weight and find a balanced, healthy lifestyle.

(Page 8 of 9)Today is November 26 and I started L A Weightloss October 31. To date, I have lost 9 lbs. I have had wonderful counselors at the center in Fayetteville, NC. They have never been rude to me when I declined the vitamins. I had gastric bypass in 2004 and had gained back 26 lbs, but thanks to L A Weightloss, I am losing again and will get to my goal weight. I have found the program to be very easy to follow and I have not been hungry at all. I feel satisfied, all day. I love the L A Lite bars and feel like that is a small sacrifice to pay for getting back on track and losing this weight I have gained plus more. THANKS L A WEIGHTLOSS!
i have been on la weight loss for about 6 weeks. i lost about 10 pounds. i am only fifteen years old. i thought it was east at first but it is getting harder. i like it that we get to weigh in 3 times a week because when i see that i lost weight it motivates me to lose more.
Just found out the company is going bankrupt. Was told all centers being closed!
I participated in the LA Weight Loss program in Birmingham AL. They are about nothing but selling, selling, selling. It's all about money - yours! They couldn't care less if you lost any weight except that it might keep your wallet coming back. These places have high pressure selling at its best. Whatever response you give, they have a quick retort so they can guilt you into buying more pills, more snacks, more products. Run the other way as fast as you can!
I have worked at an LA Weightloss center for about a year now. I just wanted to let you know that we do NOT have a sales quota that has to be met and I can not speak for each individual that works at the centers but for me personally. I care about every person that comes in and geniunely try my hardest to give tips and support to help them get to their goal weight. It has been amazing to me to see the difference it has made in peoples attitudes and lives. It is a great feeling to know that I was able to play a part in someone getting there confidence and self-esteem back! I consider it a priviledge to get a chance to know the people and help them fit the plan into their lives for a healthier and better lifestyle. If I beleive someone would benefit from one of our products then I do make a recommendation but I have never pushed sales on anyone and by no means do I recommend something everytime someone comes in! I am sorry that some of you have had a bad experience with LA Weightloss and that some conselors have ruined the experience for you. I hope that you will consider giving it another chance, maybe ask for another conselor or I encourage you to speak up and tell them if you are:not interested in the products, you dont feel comfortable being pushed for sales, or do not feel you would benefit from the products. There is nothing wrong with letting them know! They are there to serve and help you, let your needs be known! Once again I am very sorry for those of you who have had bad experiences and I wish you the best of luck with your weighloss and lifestyle goals! Have a blessed evening!! :)
LA Weight Loss is a diet center not a gym. Shish people get it together. If you have weight to lose, the secret to losing is simple. DIET AND EXERCISE... meaning watch what you eat and exercise and stop getting on the scale. I've lost 100+ lbs ON MY OWN. NO SURGERY NO GIMMICKS. It just takes dedication and will power and a drive to succeed. Fad diets and schemes are not the way to go.
I'm currently on the program. The first 4 weeks was easy, but now I find it harder. Especially when I go out for supper with friends...it's hard to understand...I'm on the 6th week and have lost about 8 pounds.
Speaking as someone who has been on both sides of the LA program, as a client and a counselor, I must start by saying that if you are dedicated to the program it will work and you will lose your weight. For the most part the counselors are very supportive and do put the clients best interest at mind as far as losing. With that being said, I do feel that the program (which you are encouraged to pay for all weeks up front), the lites (which run up to 28 dollars a week if you can't afford to pay for them all up front for the length of your program), supplements and others extras becomes extremely expensive. The program is guaranteed only if you purchase the bars. In the event that you do get a refund, you can only get the money for the program back, the LA lites you buy in advanced are not refundable. As far as the main objective being sales, for the most part that is true, because after all it is a business, and a profit does need to be made. Yes, most of the people do actually care about seeing you suceed, but on the same token, they get commission on everything you purchase, bonuses when sales goals are met, and other incentives such as jewelry. If money is no object for you however, the program is sound, and they have incorporated alot of things you could not previosly eat on the program, and it does teach you how to change your lifestyle, and depending on your center, the support is great.
I have been with L A weight loss program before (few years ago) I lost weight very well and look fabulous. I plan to rejoin L A weight loss on Dec 3. @ bala cynwd center.Think about it nothng is cheap grant it we all know the L A weight loss plans work. The plan is healthy they do not promote surgeries and drugs/pills.Ask Dr.Phil.
I was on LA weight loss for 6 months. I did in fact work. However, I stopped going, because of the price of the LA lite bars. There are programs that are offered by LA weight loss, that do not have the bars as part of them, however if you sign up for one of those programs, chances are the sales people (Who obviously work on commission) will be rude to you.
I lost 70 pounds on this program. I got tired of trying to lose the weight on my own. Like any good program, it does cost money. As far as I was concerned it was well worth it. One observation: a lot of folks sign up for this and don't have the dedication to follow it. If you aren't serious about losing the weight, don't bother. You will disappoint your counselor, yourself, and toss a bit of money into a very dark hole.
I have been a member for two years and lost 30 pounds. I was on a light blood pressure medicine before going to LA Weight Loss and after 1 year have been taking off the medicine. My blood pressure has been down and I have been doing fine. I dropped two sizes and look great. I am very disappointed that they are out of business as of January 4th. I would like to keep on the program even if I do it myself but I would like to know where I can purchase the vitamins/suplements. Are the Slim Fast bars similar to the LA Bars? Can somone please help me out here. I do think it was un-business like not to contact the clients and let them know they were going out of business. Especially for the people who have supported them year to year. This is a good program but people have to understand that this is a program that you have to stick with for the rest of their lives if they want to keep the weight off. This is not a temporary program. Just like anything else, it very easy to get back to your bad habits. I really feel sorry for the people who worked at LA Weight Loss because they are out of jobs. This is no way for them to start a new year.
i joined for 2 yrs. and lost NOTHING!
LA weight loss is a rip off! They have promised to refund my money since July and I have yet to receive one penny. I guess I don't have any other choice than to contact an attorney!
Interesting how they call Pure Weight Loss (LA's now bankrupt sister company) out for pushy sales people but not LA Weight loss. Tactics are the same. Buy our overpriced, nutritionally challenged bars and other assorted weight loss wonders is the name of their game.
LA Weigh Loss is probably one of the worst plans to teach how to eat. I had a very bad experience at one in Calgary in Crowfoot Mall. The people who are suppose to be friendly and most of all knowledgeable about nutrition have no idea OF WHAT THEY are selling you. When I asked how many calories had a single bar they did not know. They tend to get very rude when you, during the first visit do not want to buy the super expensive bars, (full of sugar by the way) and other supplements that are fooling people and making them rich. I have the worst experience from these bunch of sales people. PLEASE DON'T WAIST YOUR TIME AND MONEY.
I joined LA 4 months ago, and have lost 31 pounds so far. Sure it's hard sometimes, but you just have to stick to it. If your serious about it then its definately worth it. it was expensive but the support and motivation from everyone there helps so much. THANK YOU LA!!
I have been a member since August and lost 20 pounds before they closed. They didn't tell me of the closing and owe me about 28 boxes of LA weightloss bars, which I paid upfront for! I am furious. Anyone know who I can get the bars owed me or a refund?
I have been with LA Weight Loss since 9-26-06 and have lost 27 lbs. On 12-26-07 they closed their doors in Anderson SC. Now they are LA ON The Go.....when the center closed, they said they would call you and no one called me, I had to call them. They clained they didn't have my number in my chart which is a BIG LIE because they would call me sometimes from the Anderson Office, when they were opened. For anyone thinking about joining, DO NOT JOIN THEM, THEY ARE JUST OUT THERE TO GET ALL THE MONEY THEY CAN GET FROM YOU...... I wrote the coroporal office because I am not satisified with LA on the Go and I cannot drive to their closest office wirhter. And if I don't hear from them, I to am going to see about going to a lawyer. P/S Try Weight Watchers, most Doctors say that is the SAFEST diet to go on.
