My greatest love in life outside of my husband, children and family is the music ministry in the Catholic Church. I served as a guitarist song leader at two Catholic churches over a 23 year period. I have served as a cantor/song leader in my present church for the last 13 years. My third love is open mic singing. With my guitar in hand, I travel around to three open mics and sing folk, easy listening and rock music. It'sgreat fun!
The goals I'm working toward:
- Maintaining a healthy weight and a healthy eating lifestyle.
- Staying fit.
- Losing another 6 pounds.
I haven't felt comfortable with my weight since:
I hadn't felt comfortable since 2000 when my oldest daughter got married. I weighed 115 then. Since 12/13/2012, I've lost 31 1/2 pounds and now weigh 14.2. So I'm feeling great about my weight now.
My favorite healthy food:
Pan grilled tilapia with basil and little lemon juice.
I'm inspired to live a healthy life because:
I want to see my grandchildren grow to adulthood, go to college and live happy, successful lives.
Healthy habits that work for me:
- Stopped drinking diet drinks and using artificial sweeteners
My favorite activity at the gym is:
I don't go to the gym. I like to do interval training on the treadmill and weight training with small hand weights. In addition, I do floor exercises such as toe touches, crunches and reverse crunches.
The accomplishments I'm most proud of:
- My children
- Getting to my my goal weight.
