Namaste

Yoga Dictionary

This greeting is usually articulated at the end of a yoga class and is used often throughout India and Nepal. The word Namaste is derived from Sanskrit namas, “to bow” and te, “to you.” It is typically said with the hands pressed together in a prayer position and accompanied by a slight bow. Because of its yoga connection, the term has also been used in the naming of yoga studios, yoga attire and yoga products.
