This truly fall favorite is one of the most well-recognized apple varieties. Kids love Macs because they tend to be a bit softer than other apples and a bit smaller. An older apple, the McIntosh apple dates back to 1811 and is delicious eaten alone, juiced for cider or cooked down for a mildly sweet applesauce.
