Vegetables should take up slightly more than a quarter of your plate. Below are the recommended servings of vegetables for adults, depending on you age and gender.
- Women 19 to 50: 2 1/2 cups
- Women 51 and older: 2 cups
- Men 19 to 50: 3 cups
- Men 51 and older: 2 1/2 cups
Try to pick a range of vegetables. A cup of vegetables might be 12 baby carrots, one large pepper, a large baked sweet potato, two stalks of celery, one medium baked potato.
