Author Irv Brechner created The Mind Diet based on his personal, permanent weight loss experience, but it is not a diet. The Mind Diet is a roadmap for you to follow to get in the right frame of mind for losing weight and keeping it off by helping you train your mind to approach weight loss correctly.
Brechner, who does not have any nutrition or health expertise or credentials, begins The Mind Diet with his “Moment of Truth,” or the moment he decided to do everything he possibly could to lose weight and keep it off – not trying or taking a shot at it, but making a commitment to himself, his family and his friends that he would succeed. He claims that before you can begin to lose weight, you have to experience your own “Moment of Truth,” and he promises to help you get to your moment in The Mind Diet.
The “Moment of Truth” can occur in any number of ways, such as when your doctor tells you that you must lose weight or you could become diabetic, or when you realize that the energy you once had is gone and it’s affecting your performance at work. After you reach your “Moment of Truth,” you must then make a commitment to yourself, your family and your friends that you will eat right and live right. Then, you can truly focus on a diet and exercise plan for weight loss – and make it work.
In The Mind Diet, Brechner asserts that he will shock you with dreadful statistics and photographs of medical conditions caused by obesity, and then he will show you how your life can be truly great when you lose weight and keep it off for good.
The Mind Diet consists of a series of guidebooks, each of which is organized to build upon the “Moment of Truth” principle.
