DIET and NUTRITION

The Dolce Diet offers a straight forward approach to nutrition and exercise. Author Mike Dolce simply tells you what works and states that although the word diet is in the title, it is actually a healthy lifestyle plan. The program isn’t about forcing you to eliminate healthy food groups because that doesn’t work. The basic concept around food with this book is to burn more calories than you eat, and eliminate processed foods. Many of the recipes can be prepared in under 30 minutes and are packed with flavor. Some of the recipes you will find inside The Dolce Diet include:

  • Chicken Salad
  • Pitbull Pancakes
  • Champion Chili

There are also chapters included on grocery shopping and creating a healthy shopping list. You will also learn how to properly create your own menus while using The Dolce Diet program. The recipes are divided into breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, dressings and juicing.

EXERCISE

The Dolce Diet includes several exercises that can be done at the gym or at home. The book focuses on strength training as well as giving you some viable cardio options. There are photographs and descriptions that show you how to complete the exercises with proper form. Some of the workouts you will find in The Dolce Diet include:

  • Quick-start workouts
  • Full body functional workout
  • Lower body workout
  • Beginner treadmill workout
  • High intensity interval training
  • The fighter’s treadmill workout
CONCLUSION

The Dolce Diet boasts some very positive reviews but there are some questions. The book doesn’t offer much science behind the nutrition program but it does encourage eating whole foods. The book also tells you to eat fewer calories than you burn and exercise. The basic advice is solid but not absolutely necessary to make healthy changes.
