BACKGROUND Start the Diet Now Advertisement

The Spartan Diet is a diet program that is taken straight from history. It claims to be the healthiest diet in history and focuses on attacking the three root causes of excess fat which are the industrialization of food, cultural obsession with convenience and misplaced priorities governing food choices. This diet is intense as the creators call it hard-core in comparison to other diet plans. The diet practices originate from ancient Sparta where fast food was the type of food that helped people run fast to win Olympic games.

The Spartan Diet is not a temporary weight loss solution, but a lifelong plan to preserve a healthy relationship with food. This program shows you what to eat, how much to eat, how to prepare food, where to get your food and how to have a strong and healthy body. Some of the foods that are included with this plan are lentils, olive oil, garlic, pomegranates, figs, apples, grapes, flax seeds and others.

One thing that is different about the Spartan Diet is that it includes Spartan-style training. In Sparta, women and men trained as if they would compete in the Olympics no matter what their age. In order to get full access to the Spartan Diet, you must enroll in the program. The length of the program is six months and during that time you receive several benefits including meal planning, email support, dietary analysis, goal setting and many more.

The Spartan Diet involves eating foods that are unprocessed for the purpose of preserving. These foods are those that ancient Spartans would have eaten off their own farms or those of their neighbors. The program is six months in length and comes with special coaching along with a dietary and kitchen analysis and detailed food instructions.

You will be informed of what foods to eat, where to get those foods and the best way to balance food. The Spartan Diet includes lots of healthy organic foods that will allow you to get into peak physical condition and health.

For meat, Spartans typically preferred wild game and hunted. They ate meat in measured quantities and had a diet rich in the vegetables they grew on their farms. Some of the foods included are:

  • Olive oil
  • Garlic
  • Pomegranates
  • Figs
  • Whole grains
  • Apples
  • Grapes
  • Flax seeds
  • Lentils
  • Quinoa

Physical exercise was a very big part of daily life for Spartans, and that example is followed in this program. Spartan men and women trained their bodies as if they were going to compete in the Olympics. This was the norm for everyone no matter what their age. The exercise regimen associated with this diet will get you in top physical health.

Making a decision to get into shape comes with an obligation to do research now. There are so many different workout and diet plans available, that it’s hard to figure out which one is going to work best for you. If you are looking for a diet plan that’s hard core, natural and will whip you into shape, you might consider the Spartan Diet. There’s not a lot of information available on the program unless you inquire directly, but there is a book that is supposed to come out later this year. Taking your diet and exercise back to the ancient Sparta days can be the answer you seek for a healthy body.

Very fascinating diet. They eat animal flesh, bones and blood as their soup. I think that this is high in hyaluronic acid.
