Snack Yourself Slim
A portion-controlled approach to losing weight.
If you despise fad diets but love to snack, the book Snack Yourself Slim might be just your answer to weight loss. Rather than counting calories or grams of carbohydrates and fat, Snack Yourself Slim lays out its EATALL signature plan that designates how and when you should eat in order to lose weight without being hungry.
The theory behind this style of eating is an evolutionary one. Namely, our ancestors’ and our current bodies are designed to eat steadily so that our metabolism is constantly being stoked and we are in a perpetual state of burning calories. Some researchers and scientists believe that the high rates of cardiovascular disease come largely from gorging or eating very large meals throughout the day.
Snack Yourself Slim also arms you with advice and tips for how to handle social events, coffee breaks, lunches with friends and other and festivities where food is aplenty. As long as you follow the portion control guidelines for this program, you can effectively and safely lose weight.
- Snacking or grazing eating programs makes you feel like you’re constantly eating

- Constant snacking may lead to overeating

The basis of the Snack Yourself Slim is eating. Snack Yourself Slim lays out a precise guideline of how you should eat throughout the day. There are a few main principles to the EATALL way: Eat every hour from the time you wake up until the time you go to bed, eat very small portions of foods you enjoy, keep the food out of sight until you are ready to eat it, drink a lot of liquids throughout the day avoiding sugar and caffeine.
Each snack needs to be small such as one small apple, one to four slices of lean meat, a small bunch of grapes, a small bowl of oatmeal. Foods that are low in sugar, high in fiber and full of nutrients are encouraged. Each snack should contain about 100 calories.
Exercise is encouraged but not mandated. There is no specific exercise plan that goes along with the Snack Yourself Slim program.
Touted as not a diet, Snack Yourself Slim is instead a way of eating that promotes grazing steadily on small portion-controlled meals throughout the day. Many health experts recommend eating small meals during the day rather than three big meals in order to lose weight. Grazing may keep you feeling more satisfied and this particular way of eating allows you eat foods you enjoy as long as they stay within the portion parameters of 100 calories or less.
With the surge of 100-calorie portioned snacks on the market today, Snack Yourself Slim may be a formidable solution for you to lose weight and keep it off.

I started this about 10 days ago and lost 7 lbs.
Apparantly I ate too many cookies, though because I am back up 5 lbs!
I am sticking with it, since it WAS working so well.

I'm starting this today. I work from home and pick all day, so I'm hoping this works for me. I'll let you all know.
I am on my fifth day of the plan and have already lost six pounds, I don't feel hungry and I have all kinds of energy!
I'm 34 years old and about 40 lbs. overweight. I absolutley love this plan! I am never hungry and my energy is soaring! After 5 days, I'm 4 lbs. lighter. I would probably lose more if I actually started exercising!
