BACKGROUND Start the Diet Now Advertisement

The Silver Cloud Diet is a diet that was developed by Dr. John Salerno and Linda Eckhardt. It is a scientifically proven program that allows for quick and safe weight loss. The Silver Cloud Diet is outlined with all of the details in an eBook form available for purchase.

Overall the program is very high in protein and low in carbohydrates. Rather than just being a diet, the Silver Cloud Diet is more like a lifestyle plan that offers immediate results in the way of stopping weight-related diseases such as Type II Diabetes and reduces the risks of Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, heart attack and stroke.

The Silver Cloud Diet has principles founded in eating unprocessed organic foods with plenty of fat and protein. Eating this way helps regulate bodily function, control hunger and stop cravings. You don’t have to count calories with the Silver Cloud Diet. You will simply learn proper portion sizes.

One of the first steps on the Silver Cloud Diet is to do the detox. This consists of quickly getting rid of the carbs in your diet to put your body into a maximum fat burning mode. The detox stage lasts for two weeks and can result in a weight loss from five to 15 pounds. There are step-by-step instructions on what to do while you are going through the detox. While in the detox period, you are eating meals and snacks every three hours and consuming lots of water and liquids.

Sample menus are included and there is a list provided of foods that should be avoided. The Silver Cloud Diet also includes lots of recipes and a big focus on getting enough eggs in your diet. Exercise is highly important with this program as well. You will not only be changing the way you eat, but getting up and moving around more.

DIET and NUTRITION

The Silver Cloud Diet includes little to no carbs. In the first two weeks, the detox program consists of eating nothing but meat, cheese, eggs and nuts. Lots of water and other liquids are to be consumed to keep the body well hydrated.

During the detox you are eating every three hours including meals and snacks. There are a variety of foods that are available during this time, and although you are eliminating carbs, you don’t eat as much as you want. Meats are still weight measured and other items counted or measured to teach proper portion sizes. The foods that include fat while on the fast are full fat. The idea is that the full fat content is perfectly fine as long as the fat is natural. A sample menu during a full day of eating is as follows:

  • Breakfast: Cheese Omelet
  • Morning snack: Walnuts
  • Lunch: 2 oz. Grilled Pesto Lamb
  • Afternoon snack: Blueberries in Cream
  • Dinner: Thai Beef Lettuce Wraps
EXERCISE

Exercise is also an important part of the Silver Cloud Diet. The Silver Cloud Diet focuses on making sure that you realize exercise doesn’t have to be grueling or difficult. There are many different ways to incorporate exercise into your program without making it a chore.

Another important part of exercise is actually getting eight hours of sleep per night. Some of the suggested exercises with the Silver Cloud Diet are the things you do on a daily basis anyway, but incorporating more of it for health benefits. After sitting in an office or in front of a computer for eight hours or more, it’s important to get your body moving. Some of the suggested methods of exercise include:

  • 15 minutes of brisk walking to get your heart rate up
  • 15 minutes of bike riding to get your heart rate up
  • Park further away from the building you’re going into
  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator
  • Use 3 pound weights to do lifts and pull ups for 15 minutes
  • Use an exercise rope to do bicep curls or front raises (start out with 10 and work up to 25)
  • 10-25 sit ups
CONCLUSION

Overall the Silver Cloud Diet seems like a plan that will help you lose some weight fast. You can do the program for a short period or stay on it longer if you have a large amount of weight to lose. Incorporating a low-carb diet can be hard for those that enjoy pasta, rice and breads. But if you give the program a try, you may find that you have the will power to avoid carbs and find amazing results with the Silver Cloud Diet.

Nearly killed me. Thanks to this "diet" my left leg almost got amputated. Only a long juice fasting, followed by a switch to a mostly raw food plant diet saved me. It's all *, one loses some weight on ANY rigorous diet low in calories, but the protein high ones unfortunately ruin your health. If you think it is healthy, then why are there so many - slender, muscular - super-athletes, ultra marathon winners and such, who eat only plants and grains?! As a former runner myself this fella convinced me in no time:
The only argument for high protein, high meat diets, is that a bunch of spoiled rotten fatties miss their pork chops. So someone had to invent a "diet" high in pork chops and bacon, problem solved. They lose some weight, scream hurray, and no one cares if they cannot keep this * up, and die 2 years later.

Just try this "diet" out, you will know what I mean. Acid reflux, and stinky breath and body odor are just the beginning, as longer you keep doing that as worse it gets. The proof is in the pudding as they say, just try it out, you will see it yourself. Nuff said.

Just wondering about the credentials of the reviewer - do you know what you're talking about?

No mention that I could find of who did the review, where they got their training and what they do for a living - are you a shill for this outfit? Need some real information - none was provided.

The diet seems to be a lot like Atkins (that's not a bad thing) - recall seeing somewhere that the doc (well, a D.O.) used to work for Atkins.
