Jumpstart 7 Day Weight Loss Program

The Jumpstart 7 Day Weight Loss Program is a detox program that was developed by Brendan McCarthy.

Brendan’s impetus to create this program started when he lost his older brother and father to cancer. He developed the program as a way to stave off disease by eating a diet that is full of fresh and raw plant-based food.

The Jumpstart 7 Day Weight Loss Program is a fruit and vegetable juice fast that is done for seven days. McCarthy argues that by juicing you will get all the vitamins and nutrients that you need in addition to giving a boost to your energy levels.

The complete program is available in an ebook form and gives a step-by-step plan to help you lose weight, cleanse your body, look terrific and boost your energy levels through the process of juicing over the course of seven days.

The Jumpstart 7 Day Weight Loss Program a seven-day juicing fast whereby you consume nothing more than fruit- and vegetable-based juices.

If you already have a juicer, then you're good to go. But if you don't, you will need to purchase one as a regular kitchen blender won't be able to process hard vegetables like carrots and celery used in many of the recipes.

It goes without saying that on the seven-day plan, you will eliminate all other foods from your diet, including sodas, coffee, and alcohol. In fact, you are encouraged to pre-fast one week before starting the Jumpstart 7 Day Weight Loss Program and eliminate all processed food, wheat, dairy, sugar, caffeine, alcohol and nicotine, if you smoke.

Jumpstart 7 Day Weight Loss Program includes a shopping list for the fruits and veggies you will need to make the juices for your detox. Recipes are given for each of the juices and since little preparation is required, whipping up your daily juices doesn't take much time.

Here is a sample day on the Jumpstart 7 Day Weight Loss Program:

  • Breakfast: Morning Dew juice recipe made with honeydew melon
  • Mid morning: Juice made with carrots, one apple, two pears and a handful of parsley
  • Lunch: Minty Mountain Dew juice recipe made with honeydew melon, celery and a handful of mint
  • Mid afternoon: Juice made with carrots, one apple, two pears and a handful of parsley
  • Dinner: The Equalizer juice recipe made with stalks of celery, carrots and an apple.

There are 90 juice recipes and 22 smoothie recipes included in the ebook. In addition, many of them are categorized according to specific health ailments such as arthritis, indigestion, high cholesterol, hypertension, stomach ulcers and skin problems.


While doing the Jumpstart program, it is recommended that you get as much rest as possible. Many people will feel bursts of energy while on the program, but it is still recommended that you reserve your energy to aid in your body’s detoxification process.

If you do exercise while on the program, it is recommended that you do stretching exercises, yoga, deep breathing, walking, light jogging or rebounding on a small trampoline.

Intense physical activity should be avoided.

The program clearly requires discipline as well as a quality juicer, but just be prepared that any weight lost will likely be regained once the seven-day detox is complete.

just started with the program yesterday and this is the second time I do it. it really works but you have to be determined and willing to endure some disconfort at first but after the 2-3rd day it should be fine. more than anything, this has forced me to dring plenty of water which I have really never been good at it. i have lost in one day almost 2kgs and 2 cm of belly size. I will add routine exercising after the 7 days to compliment and keep the weight lost away from creeping back. This detox is healthy and recommend to anyone willing and determined to start a healthier journey in life.

I am on day 2 of the soup diet. I found that the soup was a bit bland so I did add a small amount of salt and pepper to taste. The soups are easy to make and some of them are nice cold. It was hard having soup for brekkie but just do it. I also found about 3pm I was really tired. I am going to keep going and yes there is extra gas on day 2...will keep you updated

The soups in the diet were terrible, could not bear to eat them. Love the soup mate pro but will be doing my own recipes. Very disappointed in the soups

Absolutely fantastic. So feel CLEAN. Have had bursts of energy & feeling exhausted. Just finished today. I lost 7kg hubby lost 51/2kgs. The most important thing is that for 10mths we have been trying to stabilise his blood pressure with not many good outcomes unless on medication. After 4 different strengths it's ok. But within 3 days of diet we were monitoring the BP as he was a little Lite headed. His BP had gone down very low. So we half the meds. Still low so for 3 days now no meds as it was making it too low. This program has made such a difference. Hoping to stay off meds. Tomorrow we start the last 2nd stage with fruits etc. thank you for this insight. Will keep you posted.

Are the recipes for one or for 2? They seem to be huge portions if for one. Also what amount of exercise to do? I have severe arthritis and cannot walk a lot so I'd appreciate some advice as to the exercise part needed.

My partner and I have just completed the 7 day soup diet by Brendan Mc Carthy. We have both lost 4-4.5 kgs respectively. We actually found the diet to be alot easier to follow than expected. We too bought the soup mate pro and it was a godsend. We just put the ingredients in and presto done in 20 mins. We feel great, look great. My partner has lost his beer belly and I don't feel as bloated. I am currently going through my pre menopausal phase and I had a hysterectomy 18mths ago and have piled on heaps of weight. This certainly has jumped started my weight loss, we have found that our cravings for all things we thought we loved before has gone and we are craving things like salads and light meats such as fish and poultry as apposed to our 3-4 serves/wk of red meat. We also didnt feel hungry at all. We did miss our protein but it was good to be cleansed and we certainly would do it again. The key is to have the variety of soups that is on offer. We found that we only needed 4 soups/day but it was good to know that we had that extra one up our sleeve if we needed it. Also plenty of water was consumed to flush the toxins away.

1st day Soup: Im about to start on the 7days soup diet with Brendan McCarthy diet plan. I notice that he used a pot to cook on stove top. I bought the Soup Mate Blender with the purpose to use for my 7days soup diet. Can i use it to cook my soup or i can only use the pot to cook my soups.which i dont really want to. Thank you. Tina.

This is amazing! I lost 12 lbs. in just 7days! And not just that....the best experience I had while taking this is that my skin become so smooth and glowing! So now, I'm healthier, confident and sexy! I just love it!???

I have tried this diet twice and I highly recommend it. You will surely gain back the weight you have lost if you don't change your lifestyle. And this is true for all diet programs out there. A great deal of discipline and change of lifestyle is a must for an effective weight loss and healthy living. This program has helped me change my lifestyle.

It really worked for my husband. I plan to get myself into it also but I am just not ready yet for the discipline it requires. Juicing has now become a part of our lifestyle.
