Hungry Girl Chew the Right Thing: Supreme Makeovers for 50 Foods You Crave is a recipe card set that was created by Lisa Lillien, a number one New York Times Bestselling author who created the Hungry Girl brand.

Lillien is not a nutritionist. She’s just someone who’s hungry and trying to share better ways to satisfy that hunger while keeping from packing on the pounds. Lillien is also the founder of hungry-girl.com, which serves as a daily email service to inform subscribers who are also hungry.

The Chew the Right Thing recipe set includes ways that you can makeover some of your absolute favorite foods without having to sacrifice the flavor, all while saving yourself some calories. Some of the highlighted recipes include red velvet cupcakes, a stack of waffles, eight layer dip and a signature dish from Planet Hollywood restaurants. There are a total of 50 recipes that will have you on your way to eating healthier without giving up the foods you love.

Hungry Girl Chew the Right Thing is not a weight loss program per se. This book offers a set of recipes that can help you cut calories and eat healthier without giving up all the foods you love. That said, there are definitely some recipes that you can put together to compile an eating plan that would benefit your health. Some of the sample meals include:

  • Planet Hungrywood Sweet & Cap’n Crunchy Chicken: 234 calories
  • Red Velvet Insanity Cupcakes: 140 calories

EXERCISE

Due to this being a set of recipe cards, there is no exercise included. This is basically for those who want to find better and healthier ways to keep eating the foods they love. That doesn’t mean that you can’t incorporate exercise with these lower calorie recipes. There just doesn’t appear to be any particular exercise program included.

CONCLUSION

Hungry Girl Chew the Right Thing seems to be a great way to add some healthiness to otherwise indulgent foods. Although the recipes won’t be available until December, there are many other resources that can be used under the Hungry Girl brand. This seems like a solid way to enjoy food without having to entertain the extra calories.
