BACKGROUND

Yolanda Bergman has been called LA’s favorite food guru. She has helped famous Hollywood stars transform their eating habits, worked in Jane Fonda’s workout studio as a trainer and become known for her approach to eliminating fatty foods. In her book Food Cop: Yolanda Tell Us What to Eat!, Yolanda teaches you how to make delicious meals without cholesterol, sugar, fat or salt. You will learn how to shop, eat out, lose weight and even entertain with these healthy foods. Food Cop offers recipes that you can prepare for the entire family. Her main focus is getting rid of the junk and processed foods, and eating real food. Yolanda goes into detail telling you what foods are acceptable to eat and what should be thrown away immediately. Instead of counting calories, you will be seriously limiting the amount of fat that you eat.

Food Cop is a compilation of the advice the author has given to many of her celebrity clients to help them keep their eating in check while maintaining busy careers. The healthy eating advice given in this book focuses on being tailored to your body and food preferences. With this program you can lose weight and learn how to prepare healthy meals at home without worrying about counting calories. Yolanda does recommend that you reduce the amount of fat in your diet pretty drastically. This book does include some simple and tasty recipes to get you started cooking meals for you and your family. You can still indulge occasionally on the Food Cop plan and it is recommended that you plan for those occasions by purchasing low-fat versions of your favorite treats.

The main focus of Food Cop is on the types of food you should eat rather than exercise.

CONCLUSION

Food Cop contains an approach that worked for many celebrities as far as weight loss and eating. Although some of the information is outdated, this book might be helpful for those that want to cut some of the fat from their diet. It is important to note that you do need some fat provided it is the right kind. Eliminating fat completely for the sake of not having to count calories is no a recommended approach to dieting and weight loss.
