The "F" in the F-Plan diet stands for fiber in this popular calorie-restricted diet plan that dates all the way back to 1983. Created by the founder of Slimming Magazine, Audrey Eyton, the F-Plan is designed to help you lose weight while also feeling full and satisfied.

Fiber is recognized as a powerhouse nutrient that keeps your digestive system healthy while also helping you feel full. Fiber not only adds bulk to your digestive tract but it also helps move fat and cholesterol out of our system.

DIET and NUTRITION

The F-Plan Diet revolves around eating a very high fiber diet in order to promote satiety and move waste out of the body. Each day you'll consume 40-50 grams of fiber and 1300-1500 calories, mostly in the form of a special F-Plan cereal mix, fruits, vegetables and legumes. Liquids like water, tea, coffee and other calorie-free beverages must be consumed throughout the day in order to prevent constipation.

A typical day on the F-Plan diet might include a special, whole grain and high fiber cereal for breakfast, a green salad filled with lots of fresh and raw veggies and a piece of fruit like an apple or pear for lunch. Dinner might be white fish, a baked sweet potato and another salad with more fresh fruit such as a grapefruit or dried plums for dessert.

There are no specific exercise guidelines while following the F-Plan.
