The Diet for a New America is a vegetarian and vegan way of eating that focuses on consuming fresh fruits and vegetables, beans, legumes, whole grains, soy products, nuts and seeds. In addition to avoiding meat and dairy, processed and highly refined foods that contain sugars, flours and hydrogenated oils should also be avoided.
A typical day on the Diet for a New America might be mixed grain cereal with almonds and soy milk for breakfast. A sprouted grain tortilla filled with black beans and fire-roasted vegetables for lunch and sesame-coated tofu with spinach and kale for dinner.
