As of 2009, this program is no longer available.

Bob Harper has called Jillian Michaels one of the finest trainers in the world. As her fitness and health empire continues to grow, there's little doubt that this is true. Partnering with eDiets, Jillian Michaels Meal Plan launched June 5, 2008, giving her loyal followers a chance to eat exactly the way Jillian has recommended.

Like many popular meal delivery programs, Jillian Michaels Meal Plan delivers directly to your home in what eDiets calls "chills-fresh" coolers - it's packed fresh and kept chilled from their kitchen to yours. Delivery is made via FedEx to ensure prompt delivery. This seven-day plan will deliver breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack for each day of the week, using quality meats, fresh produce and the highest nutritional standards.

For those following the Jillian Michaels Online program or any of her fitness videos and books, the Jillian Michaels Meal Plan is a perfect complement. Jillian worked closely with the eDiets chefs to create a menu focused on the highest quality, freshest tasting meals and snacks.

DIET and NUTRITIONDIET and NUTRITION

Jillian's Meal Plan is designed to provide you with convenience in addition to health-conscious meals that can only act as a positive in your efforts to lose weight and live more healthy. After working with the professional chefs at eDiets, they've built a broad menu with more than 100 items that rotate week-to-week. The variety will certainly help keep you motivated, as will the fresh, flavorful approach.

Each week you'll receive seven days worth of meals. Packed in a chilled cooler, you'll find seven breakfasts, seven lunches, seven dinners and seven snacks. Eat them in any combination you like, depending on your mood. They reheat quickly in the stove, oven or microwave. Best of all, they pack easily for lunch at the office.

Jillian Michaels is adamant about removing preservatives and trans-fat from the foods we eat- so you'll find none of that here. Each meal is an ideal portion size and low calorie. Some of these nutritious meals you'll be enjoying include:

Breakfast Denver Style Potato Skillet, Whole Wheat Bagel with Jelly and Almonds

Lunch Seasoned Goulash with Mixed Vegetables or Chicken Flatbread Pizza

Dinner Chili Rubbed Beef with Spanish Rice and Hot Peppers, or Blackened Chicken with Peas and Roasted Vegetables

Snacks Chocolate Pudding or Honey Roasted Peanuts

EXERCISEEXERCISE

The Jillian Michaels Meal Plan does not specifically come with any exercise guidance. However, it is designed to work directly with the JillianMichaels.com Online program. Joining online will provide you with Jillian's expert guidance to get fit and in shape with valuable tools like:

  • Fitness Diary - Jillian highly recommends overcoming the emotional reasons for your being overweight and then you can successfully tackle the weight loss.

  • Fitness Planner - Provides weekly fitness schedules outlining which exercises to do, how to do each and why they are important.

  • Cardio Advice - This important fitness component will show you which activities will burn the most calories.

CONCLUSIONCONCLUSION

Fans of Jillian Michaels' diet, fitness and weight loss philosophies will not be disappointed by the attention paid by the Biggest Loser trainer to her new meal plan. "Powered by eDiets," the meals are prepared fresh, shipped chilled and provide a truly healthy approach to eating.

If you're already following Jillian's online weight loss program, her DVDs or books, then this is a simple way to introduce her eating direction into your diet. While the program probably isn't ideal for feeding an entire family, a individual could use this plan to jump start or maintain their weight. The exclusion of preservatives and trans-fat, the use of fresh, quality meat and produce and the attention to portion-size indicate that no detail was too small, and in an increasingly crowded meal delivery marketplace, Jillian Michaels' should be considered a tough contender.

It's a great idea and meal plan but the costs are high, actually costs more than Jenny Craig and Nutri-System. I'll bet the food is better but a lot of folks just can't afford that.

Try Bistro MD, which is what the show actually uses with participants. It's frikken excellent, not made by PurFoods or any other volume manufacturer, just for Dr. cederquist patients and now by delivery. I'm not kidding, it's just really good eating, and it costs more than NS because IT'S BETTER. If you cant stand the food, you can't change your eating habits, and 90 percent of the weight-loss chore is what goes in your mouth. Know who wants all the focus on exercise? The megacorporations of Big Food that keep producing garbage calories and passing them off as uh, nutrition. And that includes most of the "diets".

No, the ingredients list does not have preservatives. It is detailed however. To my knowledge only the peanut butter has transfat everything else is free from it. I have been on it for a week now and so far I have loved all but two dishes. They were not gross or anything, just too spicy. I bet everyone else would love them. I am not not into hot spicy food. But then, for many others, it would be a nice change from "diet food" to get something with some kick. I know that PurFood works with more then one delivery company. Pure Foods delivery also uses them and their menu is much different. I had planned to use the deliciously yours until this fall then go with Pure Foods because they include fruit and more veggies. During the off season for produce this makes sense. Now I will want ot investigate what Jillian has on her menu. So far, they don't give enough information for me to know. But since the link just takes you to ediets, it might be the same. I really like the food I get from ediets delivery service. Of course, not everything is to everyones liking. But this sure beats hauling food home to cook just for myself, then washing up, then having leftovers to eat for several nights. Less time washing dishes and shopping gives me more time in the gym.

I just received my 1st weeks meals today and I am so disappointed. The ingredients label is 3 inches long because the food is full of preservatives. I think it is the same food other plans use. I will be sending it back... Yuck!

The food sounds exactly like the same menus eDiets has. They are all sent from PurFoods.

Judy, the cost might be more than NutriSystem- but consdier the the quality. Nutri is just pre-boxed food , doesn't taste that great either. This from jillian is prepared fresh and comes in a cooler. Big difference. I say its worth a try for sure. I'm alraedy a big fan of JM's 30 day shred- SO HOT! to eat her meals too just seems like the perfect 1-2 punch, ya know?! I'm with you Beth, when can we start?

I would love to try the new delivery meal plan, but with it being 140.00 a week....that is like 606.00 a month..not counting shipping. That is about twice the amount that NutriSystem is asking. I hope they reconsider the price of this.
