80 Bites App

A bite counter to help shrink your stomach and keep you on track

BACKGROUND Start the Diet Now Advertisement

The 80 Bites App is an extension of the 80 Bites Diet. The app is like a pedometer for the mouth. As the diet states, all anyone needs is 80 bites of food a day, the counter helps one tracks those bites. The plan specifically refers to bites, not chews. The concept is based on the idea that generally, most people have oversized stomachs from overeating and the stretched stomach requires more food in order to be satisfied. 80 Bites aims to train one to take fewer bites and actually shrink their stomach, or return it to normal size. This will allow for the body to crave less food, the user to eat less, and ultimately consume fewer calories.

PRO
  • The app is simple, just tap bite with each bite
  • There is no food tracking or calorie counting
  • The app provides simple feedback to indicate overeating
CON
  • Hard to train yourself to track each bite at first
  • It’s a little tricky to track liquid calories (Example: 10 oz. smoothie averages out to about 15 bites.)
DIET and NUTRITION

The 80 Bites plan isn’t based on a specific diet. Their research has shown that for 99% of the population, 80 bites is all anyone needs, regardless of the type of food. The program even emphasizes that one can eat whatever they want, they just need to remain within the 80 bites a day range. 80 Bites makes a bold statement against many other diet plans recommendations of eating large amounts of fresh fruit or vegetables, or even filling up with water. 80 Bites feels this still stretches the stomach and allows for unnecessary hunger cravings.

EXERCISE

80 Bites is a program based on eating habits and puts no specific emphasis on exercise.

CONCLUSION

The 80 Bits app is simple to use and allows for sharing on social media as one tracks their progress. The concept is simple, take one bite, press bite, and watch the counter go to 80 each day. The research behind the plan states that in a few weeks one will have shrunk their stomach to it’s normal size and will find staying full to be much easier than before. The app is only .99 cents and an easy and different way to track food intake. If the user wants to take their experience further, 80 Bites offers a 12 week plan for $49.95, available at their website.
