DietsInReview brings you and introduction to the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, which after some delay were finally released on January 31, 2011. This document is published every five years by law, and contains information about living a healthy lifestyle. It also contains statistics about how Americans eat, some of which are quite alarming. The guidelines also address the issues associated with obesity among both adults and children.
Senior Editor Brandi Koskie walks you through the new reccomendation made by the guidelines, which include eating fewer calories, less sodium and reducing portion sizes. She discusses specific changes anyone can make to their diet and lifestyle to meet guidelines.
