About Me:

I am happily married, working hard, a mother and a grandmother. I have many hobbies that involve handwork including gardening, sewing, knitting, and recycling wool into new products. I am an antiquer, on hold. I have too much of everything in my home, including too many clothes, too much furniture, too much food.

The goals I'm working toward:

  • I'd like to lose 75 pounds.
  • I want to exercise daily, walking in good weather and exercising to videos in inclement weather.
  • I want to eat healthy 6 days a week.
  • I want to reduce the amount of "stuff" in my life.

I haven't felt comfortable with my weight since:

I gave up smoking and remarried 13 years ago.

My favorite healthy food:

I like all kinds of healthy foods and unhealthy foods. I enjoy refreshing foods in summer such as salads, cottage cheese with fruit, grilled meats, yogurt, etc. In the winter I enjoy roasted chicken, grilled meats, whole grain pasta, fresh veggies, etc.

My guiltiest pleasure:

Chocolate! Chocolate! Chocolate!

I'm inspired to live a healthy life because:

I want to continue to enjoy my family, my husband and my friends. I do not want to be the weak link in the family as far as a model for healthy living and life style. I want to be more active physically, walk, hike, bike?

Healthy habits that work for me:

  • Drink tea instead of eating a large snack
  • Limiting the size of meal portions, snack portions
  • Having a treat at the end of the day, low calorie is OK.

My favorite activity at the gym is:

Cycle training at CUrves

The accomplishments I'm most proud of:

  • My great children
  • My garden when it is weeded
  • Craft projects that I have completed.
