Katie Uhlaender

Olympic Athlete Spotlight

Katie reaches death-defying speeds as one of the world’s most accomplished skeleton racers, preparing to take on the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. For those who aren’t familiar with skeleton racing, it involves riding head-first on a small aerodynamic fiberglass sled on a frozen track of ice and snow where the athlete can reach speeds of more than 100 mph – sans brakes. In 2006, Katie competed in the Torino Winter Olympic Games and finished in sixth place. Katie is another example of pint-sized power, standing just five-foot-three and weighing 140 pounds.
