Elizabeth Ruiz was an athletic, active child and teen. She got engaged while just a high school junior, and attributes her weight issues to her possessive and jealous ex-husband. She wants to start a new, healthy life, and put that abusive relationship in the past. A resident of Lawrence, Massachusetts, Elizabeth is studying to become a physician's assistant. Before she can care for others, she knows she must take care of herself and get down to a healthy size.
