This super-high fat food was created in Texas, where it won the 2008 Big Tex Choice Awards at the State Fair. However, chicken fried bacon has been around since the early 1990s. Like chicken fried steak, it consists of bacon strips smothered in batter and deep fried. It is often served with white gravy.
