Phase three is the maintenance for life phase. This phase begins once weight goals have been met. In phase three all the principles from phase one and two are put to use. The only difference in phase three is that nearly all types of foods are allowed and even the occasional indulgence. The mastered steps of The South Beach Diet are principles that are effective in a healthy weight for life.
