After shoes, the most important thing in a runner's arsenal is water. Nothing is more important than hydration to keep the body performing efficiently, and to prevent injury. While it's not always convenient to tote around a water bottle, a Camelbak is almost always convenient. These slender backpacks, in a wide variety of styles, sizes, and colors, hold a "bladder" that is filled with water. The long hose wraps around for easy access to a fresh drink of water any time the runner needs it.
While it might not be necessary to have a Camelbak for a evening jog around the block, your seasoned endurance runners could use all the water they can get.
