Puffy Omelet with Cheese Sauce
An oven omelet with a great cheese sauce.
Yield: Serves 2
Ingredients
- 4 eggs, separated
- 2 Tbs. water
- salt and pepper
- 1 Tbs. butter
- 1/3 cup cream
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/3 cup shredded cheese
Instructions
- Beat egg whites until frothy
- Add 2 Tbs. water and continue beating until stiff
- Fold egg yolks and salt and pepper into egg whites
- Heat butter in an ovenproof skillet
- Pour in egg mix
- Cook over low heat for 10 minutes or until puffed and set on bottom
- Bake at 325º F for 10 minutes
- While baking, combine butter, cream, water and shredded cheese in saucepan
- Stir and heat until smooth
- Serve omelet with cheese sauce
