Low Calorie Brownies

You'll never guess that these are good for you!

44 calories per square

Yield: Makes 16 squares

Ingredients

  • 2 c. fine graham cracker crumbs, (28 crackers)
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. skim milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces, melted
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 TBS sifted powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine crumbs, cinnamon and salt
  2. Stir in milk and vanilla, mixing well
  3. Add chocolate and nuts; blend thoroughly
  4. Turn into lightly greased 9 inch pan
  5. Bake in 350 degree preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or just until done
  6. Turn out on rack to cool
  7. Cut into 40 pieces; sprinkle powdered sugar over top

This was tasty, my kids even like it. I'm going to try adding mint chips to the recipe for a little different flavor or possibly melt some mint chips on top. posted Feb 2nd, 2009 1:54 pm

So is the serving size 1/40 of the bar as the instructions lead me to believe or 1/16 as it says above? What is the calorie count of 44 per square calculating?
