Deep Dish Pizza Casserole
Sink your teeth into this ooey-gooey cheesy pie
Yield: Serves 6
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground round
- 1- 15 oz. can chunky Italian-style tomato sauce
- Cooking spray
- 1- 10 oz. can refrigerated pizza crust dough
- 6- 1 oz. slices part-skim mozzarella cheese, divided
Instructions
- Cook meat in a medium nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until browned, stirring until it crumbles
- Drain, if necessary, and return to skillet
- Add tomato sauce, and cook until heated
- While meat cooks, coat a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish with cooking spray
- Unroll pizza crust dough, and press into bottom and halfway up sides of baking dish
- Line bottom of pizza crust with 3 slices mozzarella cheese
- Top with meat mixture
- Bake, uncovered at 425 degrees F for 12 minutes
- Top with remaining 3 cheese slices, and bake 5 additional minutes or until crust is browned and cheese melts
- Cool 5 minutes before serving

This was a good recipe. I did substitute shredded cheese and ground turkey though.

Wanted to mention the Nutrition values are different in the WW coobook I have. 7 Weight Watchers Points Nutrition Facts: Calories 337; Fat 11.4; Fiber 1.8; Cholesterol 58, Sodium 926; Calcium 202 mg. Iron 3.2 mg Exchanges 2 Starch; 3 Lean Meat

~PS~ In the WW 5 Ingredient 15 Minute cookbook it also calls for1 1/2 cups preshedded part-skim mozzarella cheese instead of the slices. Not a big difference. Either way it was dilicious when I made it from the book. ~Enjoy~

I substituted lean turkey meat for the ground round and added some onions and chopped garlic cloves. Tasted great with even less calories.
