Crock Pot Chili Mac
This hearty dinner will be a fast family favorite.
Yield: Serves 8
Ingredients
- 16 oz. extra lean ground turkey or beef
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1- 16 oz. can tomatoes, coarsely chopped and undrained
- 1 can Healthy Request Tomato Soup
- 1 cup reduced-sodium tomato juice
- 2 tsp. chili seasoning
- 1- 8 oz. can red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup whole grain elbow macaroni
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- In a large skillet coated with cooking spray, brown meat
- Meanwhile, in a Crock Pot container coated with cooking spray, combine onion, undrained tomatoes, tomato soup, tomato juice and chili seasoning
- Stir in kidney beans and uncooked macaroni
- Add browned meat
- Mix well to combine
- Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours
- Mix well before serving

I didn't like the pasta being in the crockpot, made way to mushy, next time i will make this recipe on the stove, i think it will be much better that way

So...what exactly is the serving size? It just says it "serves 8", but it never says what a serving is. Are we talking a cup or what?

I'm not a fan of cooking spray or the taste it leaves behind so I used olive oil instead which is better for you and tastes beter too.

This recipe takes items that you can typically have in stock in your cupboards anyhow and combines them into a nice hearty dish. Be careful of your weight watchers points though since 6.4 points are for one serving only

My wife has been harping on me to get a digital crock pot. Some of the crock pot recipes look pretty good.
