Baked Apples

A tried and true recipe for any lowfat dessert lover!

Yield:

Ingredients

  • 6 or 8 apples
  • 1 can diet cherry cola
  • Raisins, if desired
  • Ground Cinnamon to taste

Instructions

  1. Core apples and place in Pyrex baking dish
  2. Stuff cavity with raisins, if so desired
  3. Pour one can diet soda over apples
  4. Bake in moderate oven (350 to 375 degrees) until apples are tender
  5. For a decadent touch, add two tablespoons of fat free sugar free non-dairy whipped topping

You aren't drinking the cola, you're using it for "seasoning." I don't think a refreshment factor comes into it.

I belonged to weight watchers Years ago & lost the nessesary weight . they hd an excellent baked apple recipe then that I have lost during moving.I don't like the new redipe bcause I am not into soda of most any kind I lerned long ago that water was better for me and more refreshong.
