What am I doing wrong on the 17 day diet?

So far I've started the 17 day diet from beginning to end 2 times and from what I notice is that the most weight I lose is at the first week of being on cycle 1. After that 1st week the weight loss slows down. Recently I finished the 1st cycle and only lost 6lbs. I follow the book, drink water and I exercise 30min-60min a day. What is going on? I have however lost 27.8lbs since April but I am not losing as rapidly as I'd heard

You may not actually be eating enough calories to meet your minimum daily needs. If you can calculate what that number is and make slight adjustments to your intake that might help. Also, don't forget that a multivitamin is always a good thing to take everyday.
