Are there any health risks to taking vitamin supplements?

For most individuals, one multivitamin every day or every other day is perfectly safe; however, if you are taking your multivitamin 4, 5, 6 times a day on a regular basis or in addition to other types of supplements, you could see negative health outcomes result because you are getting extremely large doses of the nutrients contained in each tablet. If you need a multivitamin or other type of nutrient supplement to help you meet your daily nutritional needs, stick with the basics. Avoid megadoses and only take those that you truly need to meet your goals.
