I will finish my master's degree this summer and want to finally get rid of this extra weight before I start the job search. I've got 8 months to do it... thanks for your help!

At a healthy rate of weight loss of two pounds per week (which puts you at 35 weeks to reach goal), and you're wanting to do it in 32 weeks, it's not impossible, but you'll want to consult your physician and practice healthy habits that are lasting and not rely on any "quick fixes." You'll want to follow some of the advice found here in How to Lose More than 50 Pounds, which includes getting plenty of sleep, exercise and water, as well as sticking to a consistent fitness regimen.
