Mike Morelli’s Biggest Loser Finale Recap

Catch Mike’s reaction to the final episode of this season’s Biggest Loser. Get his take on the winners, losers and runner-up.

It was an unprecedented Biggest Loser finale. Winner Danny Cahill lost the most weight of any contestant in the show’s eight-season history.

Antoine Dove proposed to Alexandra White, in the show’s first finale engagement. Interestingly enough, Biggest Loser has produced more long-lasting relationships and marriages than any of the reality dating shows!

Subway offered contestant Shay Sorrells $1000 for every pound she loses between now and the May 2010 season nine finale. Motivation to continue working off the extra hundred pounds she still has to lose.

Awww I'll miss your recaps. It's nice to see a recap from someone my age, who's in school too. It's very relate-able.

Are you chewing gum in every recap? (lol!)

I thought this finale was very *healthy*, like you said. No one looked like they were getting too skinny just to win some $$$, they all looked like normal, healthy human beings.
Looking foreward to next season! Most inspiring and addictive TV show out there, for sure.

Thanks for all the great recaps Mike...I'll miss you every week.

This season finale was great. Everyone looked to be in tip top-shape except Shay, which is to be expected because of her starting weight. It took Dan two seasons to get there so it's going to take Shay more than one season to reach her goals, thankfully she won a big surprise of getting paid $1000 per pound, that will be a huge motivation for her...and she could end up walking away with $120k or more which is better than the at-home prize.

Wow Abby looked really great, she was so happy, which was inspirational given the tragedy she went into the ranch with.

Allen pretty much looked like he had finished his journey by the time he got sent home.

Antoine looked really fantastic. His change was quite dramatic given how early he got sent home. Usually those sent home in the first two or three weeks don't do so well, but this season they did amazing.

Rebecca looked fantastic. I'm so happy for her winning the at-home prize. Unlike Helen, she looked completely healthy and I could tell she was on cloud nine. From some post-finale interviews it sounds like she's going to use her prize money to start a new life with Dan, which is pretty awesome.

Dan finally reached his goals. It took him a really long time, but he looks so much better now. He won back his life, and that is quite inspirational.

Amanda did a great job. She deserved to be in the finale.

Rudy looked amazing. I can't believe how much weight he lost. It was insane.

Danny is full of class and was an all-around favorite contestant. He truly deserved to win this season. He was so full of heart and even when he seemed to realize he was going to beat Rudy he didn't hesitate to thank and praise Rudy for a job well done and for being by his side. His humility is inspiring, and he looked so good I am really happy for him and his family.
