Everyone’s favorite pint-sized Jersey Shore star, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, is showing off her slender post-baby body just one month after giving birth to son Lorenzo Dominic LaVelle on August 26.
The star stepped out with friends over the weekend in a figure-hugging black and animal-print dress. Though she was reportedly adverse to breastfeeding at first, she’s now embracing it for the sake of Lorenzo’s health and as a means to slim down.
Snooki, 24, has been active on Twitter about her weight loss since giving birth. On September 21, the star tweeted, “exactly why I’m at the gym right now #postbabyworkout …#FatPig.” Earlier that day she wrote, “can’t wait to start walking again!”
It seems Snooki is enthusiastic about getting her pre-baby body back quickly, and has wasted no time getting back to work as a new mom. The star is currently filming the MTV Jersey Shore spin-off Snooki & JWOWW, which she mentioned on Twitter is the reason she uses a pump now instead of breastfeeding naturally. (more…)
Spring is here, which means it’s time to get in bikini shape now. No one knows that better than the cast of the Jersey Shore, who spend their summers on national TV in skimpy outfits.
While Snooki is making room for her expanding baby bump, Jenny “JWOWW” Farley has been sporting a more fit and toned body recently, which she credits to spending quality time in the gym with her juice head gorilla boyfriend, Roger. Wanna know how she does it? Here is her beach body workout she swears by, with just 3 exercises for every body part.
The news that Jersey Shore’s Snooki is pregnant has people asking questions about the impact of eating disorders on pregnancy and post-natal weight loss. Every individual is different and how they have (or have not ) processed and healed from the eating disorder will determine how and to what degree they manage the weight gain of pregnancy and weight loss after the child is born.
Snooki has admitted to a dangerous bout of anorexia during high school. She has used the unbalanced Cookie Diet to help her lose weight and seems to continue to lower her goal weight. Eating disorders impact two major aspects of pregnancy – weight gain and lack of control. Weight gain may be more obvious, but despite all our efforts much about what pregnancy does to a woman’s body and how a pregnancy evolves is outside of our control.
A clearly caring eating disorders treatment specialist Christel Parker, LMFT stated, “while pregnant, women who have struggled with eating disorders often share how their changing bodies, hormones and weight gain can ramp up symptoms of their illness. That said, being pregnant and having a child can be an unparalleled motivator in the recovery process. I’ve seen many times how this motivation develops into courage and strength throughout pregnancy and after giving birth.” While pregnancy can complicate the major issues involved in an eating disorder, pregnancy can also provide the existential motivation for a women to change behaviors and find healing, placing the health of her child ahead of her own health.
Jersey Shore’s season four debuted last night with 8.8 million viewers, making it the most-watched MTV premiere ever. The show is getting back to its roots, shooting in Italy.
Most of the Jersey girls have publicly lost weight as the show’s success skyrocketed, but none have had quite the dramatic transformation as Jenni “JWOWW” Farley. There have been no official reports if JWOWW has lost weight recently, however she appears dramatically thinner. She did report losing 20 with the help ofAbdominal Cuts Natural Supplements, which she also endorsed. She says she used the pills in combination with working out five days of the week with her boyfriend, who does weight training. (more…)
UPDATE 1/5/2012: Snooki is continuing to drop the pounds, reportedly weighing in now at 103 pounds, just 5 shy of her 98 pound goals. Polizzi is still using Zantrax and most would agree she is being paid for her promotion of the diet pills, with tweets like “Glad to hear reports that say I look good =) but it’s not because of HCG! Thanks @Zantrex!”
Snooki has lost so much weight it is spurring rumors that her eating disorder has reared its head again. Hopefully Snooks is following healthy habits in 2012, and her weight loss is healthy- well, as healthy as can be on a diet pill regimen.
Nicole Snooki Polizzi, better known simply as Snooki, weighed a reported 126 pounds last summer while indulging in a lifestyle afforded to her as a member of the popular show on MTV, Jersey Shore.
Since then she has shaped up somewhat, taking her tiny 4′ 10″ frame down to around 110 pounds. Before her recent departure to Italy for the filming Jersey Shore’s fourth season, pictures of a slimmer Snooki were revealed through her Twitter account.
It was revealed last year that Snooki struggled with an eating disorder in high school.
“In high school, I really wouldn’t eat,” she says. “I would only have lunch, and I would only have salads.” She dropped to a dangerous 80 pounds before realizing she had to do something about it. (more…)
The popular TV show Jersey Shore has brought about some colorful characters with an affinity for working out, like Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. Many people have started to adopt the Situation’s routine of hitting the gym, tanning booth and doing laundry, or GTL as the cast likes to call it.
A product that is part of The Situation’s workout routine is NOx Edge. This is a dietary supplement that you take before you work out to enhance your strength and help you get bigger in a faster period of time. The supplement has been formulated to speed up your recovery time and raise nitric oxide levels which will increase muscle size. For men and women that want to bulk up and gain more strength, this product is designed to help those who are already working out on a regular basis and engaging in a healthy diet. By increasing your levels of nitric oxide, you will be able to boost stamina, increase your load capacity, maximize your muscle pump, and achieve longer workouts.
This summer Jersey Shore’s J-WOWW was hawking the pregnancy hormone hCG for weight loss purposes, but it’s looks like’s she switched to another questionable supplement. The reality star was in New York yesterday to promote the launch of Abdominal Cuts Natural Supplement at GNC.
According to Abdominal Cut’s website, the supplement helped Jenni “J-WOWW” Farley lose 20 pounds, of course in combination with portion control and working out five days per week. “I eat junk food, cheesecake, cheese, pizza, but just lower amounts of it,” she was quoted saying at the GNC event. She also reported works out with her boyfriend.
You may know Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino from MTV’s reality show, The Jersey Shore. What you might not know is that his financial empire is growing. Given his beginnings as a personal trainer, it’s not surprising that his fame has shifted to the fitness industry and beyond.
Sorrentino is expected to make $5 million in endorsements and other financial ventures by the end of the year. The Situation Ab Workout is his DVD scheduled for release this winter. A lot of us are excited to start reading those reviews and finding out the secret to Situation-abs. Sorrentino’s abs seem to get more publicity than he does, so it’s only natural that they start making some money.
The Situation is also a contestant on Dancing With the Stars. Although he hasn’t been known for earning the highest scores, he’s hanging in there and so far hasn’t been sent home. (more…)
Although Snooki has publicized her weight drop while following the cookie diet, she admits that her weight was once dangerously low. The Jersey Shore star is on the cover of the most recent edition of OK! magazine. In the cover story, she discusses the pressure she faced to be thin as a cheerleader and how she suffered from anorexia in high school.
“It started when I was a junior,” she said. “The reason I did it is because I was very self-conscious about cheer leading…There were these little freshman girls, and I was scared that these little freshman girls were going to take my spot.”
The biggest night in television is just days away, and everyone in Hollywood is preparing. The 62nd annual Emmy Awards will air this Sunday, August 29 on NBC and for the first time in more than 30 years will be live on both coasts. Hosting this year is late night funny man Jimmy Fallon, who says he’s proud of the work they’ve done for this year’s show and is so excited about everyone seeing it he wishes they could just air it early.
We had a chance to speak with Jimmy as he took a break from rehearsals at the Nokia Theater in Hollywood. He said one of the biggest challenges facing him in preparation for the show has been keeping his weight down. It seems as though the ladies aren’t the only ones trying to lose weight before their red carpet appearances, Jimmy as well “just wants to lose weight.” He said if you were to ask him what he’s wearing, he’ll tell you Spanx made by Tom Ford.
Listen now to hear more with Jimmy and how he’s ensuring the tux fits Sunday night. His tactics may involve 5,000 crunches a day with Jersey Shore‘s The Situation. He also talks about the weight loss show he enjoys, and which he thinks has “derailed.”
Lest she be left off the Jersey Shore‘s diet party bus, Sammi “Sweetheart” has revealed her diet and weight loss strategy. Unlike her female co-stars, Sammi chose to lose weight by relatively conventional means. Snooki reached her weight loss on Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet and J-WOWW is taking the controversial pregnancy hormone, hCG.
How did Sammi Sweetheart drop 15 pounds? She stopped eating pasta, which just might be as sacrilegious for the guidette as cookie meal-replacements or hawking hormones. She confessed that giving up noodles had been hard. “I miss it like crazy, but I don’t eat pasta anymore. I eat my vegetables and try to stay healthy,” she said. (more…)
