I have been on this diet for 14 days, and I have lost 13 lbs. Most diets I have read about do not appeal to me, and do not seem to be sustainable in the long term. This seemed to me to be well-researched and based in real facts about how the body uses food. Some of the ingredients were hard to find at first, but now not so much. Most items can be found at the average grocery store or even Wal-mart, if you are looking in the right places. (Hint: some of them are in the Asian food or gluten-free sections.). Even the hardest items to find can be found at Publix. I never did find fat free ricotta, but simply substituted part-skim. The first four days were the hardest, because there were times when I was hungry, and the lack of caffeine from soda gave me headaches. I did lose 8 lbs during that phase though, which was encouraging. After that phase, I felt much better about the whole thing, and generally did not get hungry. I did find that using raw sugar in my morning coffee was much preferable to honey, which didn't sweeten enough for my taste. I have found the exercise pretty easy to do. I did have to modify the Dip exercise by using two small stools on either side, and keeping my feet flat on the floor. I will say that the diet is time-consuming for those who don't usually exercise or cook. I have had to carve out time for exercise, more time for shopping, and time for cooking. I believe that I can continue to use some of the recipes from the diet, and apply concepts from the book to other recipes. I am also planning to buy the companion cookbook for more recipes. Overall, I think that this is a good beginning to a healthier lifestyle for me, as well as my family, and it is worth making some lifestyle changes, not only to lose the weight, but also to help keep our entire family more healthy.

This diet is amazing. It works. I have lost 25 pounds in 3 months. I feel wonderful and the menus create foods that are tasty and filling. The only exercising I do is long walks, and I didn't give up my diet cokes.
