AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge Ingredients and Side Effects

The brands are OmegaPlex, Herbal Cleanse System, AdvoCare Spark, Metabolic Nutrition System, meal replacement shake, Catalyst, ThermoPlys, and Carb-Ease Plus. Here are some select ingredients found in the supplements and meal replacement offered:

Artificial Flavors

Gum Arabic

Guar Gum

Sucralose

Green Coffee Extract (Svetol)

Oolong Tea Extract

Guarana Extract

Sage Extract

Green Tea Extract

Chinese Licorice Root

Taurine

Guggul Gum Resin

Gotu Kola Leaf

Rutin

Spirulina Extract

Artificial Flavors: This unnatural ingredient is added to help provide a certain flavor that would be difficult to preserve. It can be extracted from many things including tar, oil, and chemicals.

Our review experts have compiled a comprehensive list of the highest rated weigh loss diets.

Gum Arabic: This sap taken from the acacia tree is used to help stabilize and thicken other ingredients as well as provide fiber. It can potentially cause side effects such as:

         • Breathing issues.

         • Skin lesions.

         • Bloating, gas, and loose stools.

Sucralose: Synthetic sweetener that is used to substitute sugar. It’s up to 1,000 times sweeter than regular table sugar. A clinical review featured in the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health reviewed sucralose and found:

“exerted numerous adverse effects, including reduction in beneficial fecal microflora, increased fecal pH, and enhanced expression levels of P-gp”

This study showed it has a serious damaging effect on the body. P-gp is only released when a contaminant enters. This means it is treated as a contaminant.

Green Coffee Extract (Svetol): A patented form of unroasted coffee bean. It’s used to help raise metabolism via its caffeine and chlorogenic acids. Possible side effect may include:

         • Insomnia, headaches, and difficulty concentrating.

         • Nervousness, anxiety, and restlessness.

         • Insomnia, difficulty breathing, and rapid heart rate.

         • Ringing in the ears, vomiting, and upset stomach.

Oolong Tea Extract: This tea is made from the camellia sinensis plant. It’s included due to its natural caffeine which is used to improve alertness and increase metabolism.

It can lead to side effects similar to the ones listed in the Green Coffee Bean Extract (Svetol) section.

Guarana Extract: The seeds of this plant contain stimulants such as theobromine and caffeine. They help to stimulate the central nervous system and aid weight loss. Web MD adds:

“Guarana is POSSIBLY UNSAFE when taken by mouth in high doses for a long time”

“LIKELY UNSAFE and even deadly, due to its caffeine content, when taken by mouth… in very high doses”

It can lead to side effects such as:

         • Tremors, jitters, and nausea.

         • Delirium, rapid heart rate, and high blood pressure.

         • Agitation, anxiety, and ringing in the ears.

Green Tea Extract: This substance is added to help increase metabolism and promote fat burning. It contains caffeine and the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health mentions:

“There have been some case reports of liver problems in people taking concentrated green tea extracts”

Furthermore, though it’s used for weight loss:

“There are not enough reliable data to determine whether green tea can aid in weight loss”

Guggul Gum Resin: Extract taken from the mukul tree. It is added to help lower both triglycerides and cholesterol. Web MD adds:

“It can cause side effects such as stomach upset, headaches, nausea, vomiting, loose stools, diarrhea, belching, and hiccups”

EDITOR’S TIP: Combine this diet with a proven meal replacement such as 18 Shake for better results.

AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge Quality of Ingredients

Stimulants, binders, thickeners, and cheap processed ingredients are added to the supplements offered. This makes it a very poor assortment of supplements. There are also so many different varieties one must use that it can make keeping up with supplementation difficult.

Many of the supplements aren’t necessary either. The 6 total products are meant to cleanse and provide well-rounded weight loss benefits, but the ingredients aren’t all high quality. There’s a possibility for unwanted side effects in each item one chooses.

The Price and Quality of AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge

The total 6 supplements, workout DVD series, nutrition guide, tools, and online coaching cost $195.70. This is of course for 24 days total of products and support. Two additional supplements are also advised but not required, this raises the price even further with each brand ranging $31.50 to $37.95.

Due to the lack of quality ingredients and many possible side effects, it’s a very poor mixture of supplements. There’s a possibility for side effects due to the stimulants provided.

It’s also very expensive to use the AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge. Overall it’s a highly priced combination of many cheap additives. For a comprehensive listing of the top ranked weight loss diets, click the link cited.

I’ve done the 28 day challenge several times over the past few years and LOVE it and the results!! You have to put efforts into eating clean and you WILL see results and quickly. It’s not a ‘diet’. It is a kick start for your metabolism and you have to continue to eat well AFTER the 28days are up. It’s meant, at least for me, to give you an amazing beginning to eating better for GOOD. Not for just now. It is really meant to give you a jumping spot to change your life and giving you visual results very quickly....as long as you STICK TO IT. Good luck and I 100% stand behind Advocare as well as the results.

I had great results. As with ANY diet, try small doses at first to see how you react. To the lady who stated that she spents "thousands with no results", well I personally would not keep investing in something that wasnt giving me results.
I am also a nurse and I would suggest that you introduce each item one at a time for several days, that way if you have a reaction, you KNOW which product that it is related to.

I love advocare. I stumbled on it completely by accident. Needed energy one day and someone handed me a spark. Changed my life. From there i ordered the 24 day challeneg. Ilost 15 pounds and for someone who is 5 feet tall 15 pounds makes a huge difference. I signed up to be a distributor after that. Visit my website lindacaresbyadvo.com

i think Advocare teaches people to be more aware of their eating and lifestyle habit. the products overall i don't think really have much to do with the drastic changes. i am pretty much turned off by Advocare advisers and how they push to sell. my friend is a personal trainer and an advisor who pushes the products to her clients. although she claims advocare has helped her tremendously and has helped her moods, what she doesn't tell anyone is that she really contributes her great physique to genetics and clean eating. Also, she's a person with high anxiety and takes anti depressants to keep her moods at bay. I know another advisor who swears by Advocare and also contributes her great physique to taking supplements. BUT what she doesn't tell you is that she had a tummy tuck and she eats clean. I once too was an Advocare user but they make me sick. My advisor fared no better and to her it was all about sell sell sell with terrible nutritional advice, and fake sincerity about my health. you see, it's all about selling and over glorifying the products with hype, fake sincerity from the advisors, and when you gather a bunch of Advocare users together it just comes off like a weird cult. Found this as an interesting tidbit about Advocare and the athletes they endorse

I started taking Advocare in Jan of 2001. I was a size 14 had three babies in day care and was struggling to make ends meet. The very first day on product it was like a fog was lifted. When I got home from a long day at work I had enough energy to cook dinner, bath the kids, and even do laundry. Well I went from a size 14 to a size 6 in record time. I did sign up as a distributor just for the discount. Well before I knew it I had a business on my hands. I very quickly surpassed my daytime jobs income. So I quit! Over the next year my income grew to 6 figures and grew rapidly from there. I was blessed to have earned nine trips five star all over the world.i was was also honored as advocates rising star award. This is a very prestiges honor that very few receive. I also was on the cover of their national magazine. Advocare not only got me healthy but taught me life skills to dream bigger and to teach others to do the same. Do to personal reasons I made a decision to walk away from Advocare the business in 2008. ( I still take the products and still ha d many loyal customers and distributors. I just do not work it activity at all. The beauty is that I have not worked on building or maintaining Advocare at all in 8 years and I still make an average of 30k per year on my residual income! Why? Because the products work and people order them again and again. If you would like some advice or a safe place not to get pushed to sell or not to sell. Just someone who can support you on your journey please here is my website www.advocare.com/01013893

BACKGROUNDBACKGROUND Start the Diet Now Advertisement

The 24-Day Challenge is a comprehensive supplementation and nutrition program designed to give your body the jumpstart it needs to help you reach your goals, whether they be weight management, weight loss, increased energy, or improvement in overall health and wellness.

The 24-Day Challenge is split into 2 phases, The Cleanse Phase and The Max Phase, where challengers consume specific daily supplements at specific times, while preparing their own well-balanced, nutritious meals of their choice.

The 24-Day Challenge products can be purchased individually, or as a bundle which as of 1/15/2016 is $195. The bundle includess one box of meal replacement shakes, two boxes of natural energy drink packets, one bottle of omega vitamins, and the supplements for each phase of the challenge, which are available in three different formulas depending on personal preference and needs.

Products can be purchased through the AdvoCare website, or you can sign up as a distributor in order to save on your own products, while also having the ability to sell products to those new to AdvoCare.

Being an AdvoCare Distributor

As a distributor, there is a yearly $50 fee for rights to sell AdvoCare to other people. Depending on your sales, there is also a discount for buying products for yourself, which is why a large portion of people who try AdvoCare choose to also sell Advocare.

As a distributor, you earn money by taking a percentage from the products you sell as well as a percentage from what the distributors under you sell. According to many AdvoCare distributors, signing up other distributors is the fastest way to make money. The distributor program is also incentive based, meaning you can win prizes, like vacations, and earn rewards as you reach different levels of sales. Conferences for serious distributors are held throughout the year and training materials about products and business development are also made available to help distributors grow their business. Depending on your hustle and the amount of time you devote, you can make a little residual income or make selling AdvoCare your full time job.

DIET and NUTRITIONDIET and NUTRITION

Purchasing the 24 Day Challenge bundle includes a nutrition guide, which includes recommendations for each meal and snack of the day, including serving sizes and examples of approved foods. The challenge is split into two phases, which vary a little bit for eating. The portions are based on your individual weight and activity level, which are also explained in the nutrition guide.

**Day 1-10: The Cleanse Phase **

The Cleanse Phase is designed to clear out your system and prepare your body to better absorb nutrients. The products included in Phase One are:

Herbal Cleanse System - A blend of herbal ingredients designed to help rid your body of waste and prepare the body for optimal nutrient absorption. Each Herbal Cleanse box includes ProBiotic Restore capsules and Herbal Cleanse tablets.

OmegaPlex - A high-quality blend of essential Omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential components of heart, nerve, muscle, skin, bone and immune health.

AdvoCare Spark - A fan favorite of the AdvoCare products, AdvoCare Spark is a sugar-free, multi-nutrient powder you mix into water to enhance energy and mental focus that won't over stimulate your body like most energy drinks.

**Day 11-24: The Max Phase **

Metabolic Nutrition System - During the Max Phase, you will choose from three Metabolic Nutrition Systems based on your individual goals and needs, but all three formulations include: CorePlex, AdvoCare's multivitamin, OmegaPlex, and ProBiotic Restore.

Meal Replacement Shakes - During the Max Phase, you will replace one meal per day with the Meal Replacement Shake, which includes 22-24 grams of protein, 24 grams of carbohydrates, 5-6 grams of fiber, 26 vitamins and minerals, and 50 percent of the recommended daily allowance of calcium. They are available in different flavors. Just mix with water and enjoy.

AdvoCare Spark - The Max Phase contains an additional box of AdvoCare Spark drink mix.

Upon completion of the 24-Day Challenge, AdvoCare encourgaes you to continue to take these products every day as part of a healthy lifestyle.

EXERCISEEXERCISE

Exercise is encouraged during the 24 Day Challenge but not much guidance is given.

There is an optional AdvoCare Workout Series Can You 24? two-disc exercise DVD set you can purchase. The DVD set includes seven non-equipment needed workouts, featuring 24 exercises per workout that only takes 24 minutes to complete, and is led by some of our top AdvoCare Independent Distributors.

CONCLUSIONCONCLUSION

While weight loss is often experienced, most challengers report that at the end of the 24 days, it's their increased energy and overall feeling of improved wellness that is the biggest benefit. However, whether the supplements themselves or the 24 days of clean eating are actually the cause of these benefits is up for debate.

It is also important to note that most people who take part in the Challenge are also distributors who earn money and other incentives when people purchase products through them, so these reports have the possibility of being a bit biased.

As an entrepreneurial pursuit, many people have made a great living, but as with anything, you get out of it what you put into it.
