Who wouldn't love to have a personal chef cook them up yummy and healthy meals day after day? That is just the idea behind Susan's Healthy Gourmet, a meal-based delivery service that cooks meals for you and delivers them to your door each week. For those who are looking to lose some weight, but hate spending time in the kitchen, you are expected to lose about 1-2 pounds each week while eating Susan's Healthy Gourmet meals.

Daily meal plans come in 1,125, 1,500 and 1,800 calorie levels. The vegetarian dinners are offered in only one calorie level, varying from 375 to 525 calories per meal, and 1,500 calories per day. You select which caloric level you want and what type of meal plan compliments your lifestyle. There are seven meal plans to choose from ranging from the Quick and Easy to a diabetic. Be advised that Susan's Healthy Gourmet does not give recommendations for which caloric level you should choose. If are looking to lose weight, it is best to speak with a registered dietitian who can calculate what your daily caloric requirements are

Even though Susan's Healthy Gourmet is based in California, the company delivers all over the country. With five-weeks of rotating meals, variety is insured so that you're never tired of eating the same meal twice in one week. Meals can be purchased for individual or family households. While most meal-based delivery services only offer meals for adults, Susan's Healthy Gourmet offers kid-friendly fare, too.

I love Susan's Healthy Gourmet! I have been with them for over a year, their food is always fresh and well balanced..
If I need any changes to food or delivery they always accommodate my needs. I have recently changed to their diabetic plan, so far so good! Hi Amanda, just to let you know you have been great in assisting me making everything run so smoothly😋

I've been having Susan's delivered twice a week,. I'm on the 7 day plan, breakfast, lunch and dinner and a snack. I think the food is really, really good! The portions are controlled, obviously it's a diet. I have felt a little hunger afterwards but that;'s normal for a diet plan. Lots of fruit, good breakfast, some even come with milk or juice. Dinners are great, salmon or pot roast or soups. I've tried other home delivery but this is the best for my busy life. Only thumbs down is that I wish the veggies were a little cooked more in the meals, they are somewhat raw, i dunno if that's for health reasons they dont wanna cook out all the vitamins or what.

I lost about 5 pounds in two weeks, without any sense of deprivation.

Way too expensive for the quality. Food rotation is slim, so it's easy to get bored. Seems like the same veggies over and over again. Can't mention how many times I opened a meal to find it smelled rancid. Customer service would give me a credit, but when it was the only food I had in the house, it didn't do me much good.

My elderly parents are finally eating healthy food and enjoying it! This is a great way to support older relatives who no longer are excited about cooking. My parents simply were going out and getting fast food EVERY night! Susan's is WAY better!

I think the food is excellent and there is a big variety. I used this food and cooked during the week too. I was very careful with what I ate and lost about 3 pounds a week combined with exercise.

Pros:
Food is fresh and nicely prepared.
Customer service seems to be willing to please, and explain things in detail.

They do have a Seniors menu at a slightly reduced price ($13.27 per meal delivered) that is nicely portioned for seniors and well thought out.

Cons:
More expensive than a decent middle priced restruant at $17.00 per entree per day - that's right folks $170.00 per week per person for five meals Lunch and Dinner. That's with no drink, ( or adult bevrages) - and needing to still shop for breakfast and fill ins.

Specifically stated lactose intolerant and 75% of all meals showed up with a lactose containing component. that was integral to the meal. Somethimes hiddend within the dish so as to not be apparent.
This was not an afterthought - nor was it causally mentioned - it was all over the file and talked about repeatedly during the order process for a solid 45 minutes.

Calorie count at 900 or 1200 levels for two meals seems especially low, I had not thought they were competing in the diet market - but they seem to be pushing themselves in that direction.

I'm saying I don't like them although I'm giving them another chance as they really do seem eager to please ansd swear it was an abberation - but if you think about it - go to a diner - order 10 meals and 7 come out with something you are allergic to - that's a recipe for a disaster.

I signed up for a week online and when I called to confirm they said they would not honor pricing discount on their website because it did not apply to the cleansing diet. It did not say this online (10% off for all new customers). One woman said she would honor it and the next woman said they would not (great customer service-sarcasm) Also, the website told me that my delivery would begin Thursday and when I tried to confirm that I was told, "The cleansing diet only starts on a Monday." She said this arrogantly as if I was stupis! I told her I had received a confirmation e-mail after paying and she said it was wrong. No apology for their error an they made me feel like an idiot. I decided to cancel my order because if they treat new customers this way then I would hate to stay with them!

My husband and I found the meals delicious!
We used it as a supplement, not as a diet.
